Based out of the Estevan Operations Centre, this Superintendent position provides fast\-track opportunities for the right candidate, and can be the gateway to roles of increasing responsibility and leadership within URS\. The incumbent provides site level coordination and supervision of work crews within a project/projects\. The Superintendent ensures a quality, safe and efficient build is conducted following the Construction Execution Plan\.
**Responsibility Area \#1 \- Employee Management**
+ Coach and mentor the Construction staff on the project to safe work practices, quality workmanship, productivity and schedule\.
+ Participate & conduct annual Performance Management reviews for the General Foremen\.
+ Align Construction crews with adequate supervision and provide daily work instructions within area of supervision\.
+ Directs and coordinates the work and schedules of subcontractors\.
+ Ensure staff has all of the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment to complete the job safely\.
+ Promote and adhere to Flint’s Safety Management System\.
+ Monitor start, quitting and break times\.
**Responsibility Area \#2 \- Functional Responsibilities**
+ Execute the work according to the schedule utilizing the Construction Execution Plan\.
+ Manage the Field \(Dynamic\) Planning within area of supervision\.
+ Collaborate with the General Foremen to actively track ‘out of scope’ work utilizing the Change Management Process\.
+ Train reports to the use of the schedule and ensure crews are working to the schedule utilizing the Work Package\.
+ Collaborate with the General Foreman to arrange and pick up required materials and equipment\.
+ Manage any Constructability issues in regards to shortage of materials, equipment and engineering\.
+ Ensure that all tools and equipment utilized have been inspected, in good repair, and color coded, as required\.
+ Participate in any incident investigations, and/or concerns regarding area of supervision\.
+ Ensure any Permit requirements and PPE are in place prior to starting work activity\.
+ Ensure Quality Assurance is aware of any work related to the work packages\.
+ Walk down work packages as they are completed\.
+ Other duties as assigned\.
**Responsibility Area \#3 \- Communication**
+ Participate and attend various construction and functional support meetings\.
+ Ensure interdepartmental alignment for the success of the project\.
+ Attend and participate in daily Production meeting\.
+ Attend and participate in daily Stand Up Field review Meetings with the General Foremen and the Foremen\.
+ Regularly communicate work progress, schedule variance, crew and safety performance to the Client and Project Manager\.
+ Prepare recovery plans as required to maintain Schedule\.
**Responsibility Area \#4 \- Document Administration**
+ Review and submit daily timesheets, Check and sign crew timesheets\.
+ Initial / Sign Task Hazards Analysis, Review Behavior Based Observation cards\.
+ Manage Record of Employment Requests and ensure they are submitted to HR\.
+ Ensure any appropriate overtime approvals have been complete prior to performing overtime\.
+ Sign off on the Readiness checklist for the Foremans' Work Package\.
+ Sign off the Prerequisite sheet with the Foreman\. \(Foremans' work package\)\.
+ Review Short Interval Plans and Time Loss Survey\.
+ Sign off Close Out Summary form when work packages are completed\.
+ Ensure daily progress reports have been submitted by Formen on shift\.
**Job Requirements:**
+ 7\+ years of successful exprerience withinIndustrial Construction\.
+ 4\+ years Supervisory experience: General Foremen, Field/Facility Discipline Planners \- Up to 7 direct reports;andFront line craft personnel, Foremen \- Approx\.20 – 100 indirect reports\.
+ Ability to access all parts of an Industrial Costruction Site\.
+ Journeyman Trade Certification a definate asset\.
+ Intermediatecomputer skills: Microsoft Office \(Word, Outlook, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Project\)\.
+ A good understanding of scheduling software\.
