Requisition Number: FS103872 Interest Category: Business Operations/Admin/IT Interest Sub Category: Information Technology Job Title : Enterprise Performance Monitoring Specialist Employment Category/Status: full-time Type of Position: Regular Hire Country: U.S. State: District of Columbia City: Washington Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in computer science or related filed and at least 2 - 4 or more years’ experience; or a combination of education, certifications, and specialized industry experience (subject to the Government Contracting Officer granting a waiver) Candidates should have: • Design network monitoring solutions and create implementation procedures • Perform configuration changes to the network monitoring tools • Create templates and/or scripts to provide monitoring solutions • Design and create reports based on customer input • Create and modify ksh scripts used by the Tivoli Workload Scheduler for automation • Test monitoring solutions to ensure they are working as designed • Respond to in-house Software Change Requests (SCR’s) for software deployments and changes • Strong knowledge of the UNIX/Linux operating environment, including Solaris 9 and 10 and VM technology It is highly desirable that candidates have: • Must be a self-starter, self-motivating and be able to work in a team environment • Understanding TCP/IP network environment, especially SNMP • ITIL certification a plus • Excellent troubleshooting skills • Excellent documentation skills • Excellent process skills May be required to work evenings and weekends. Participation in a 24x7 on call rotation may be required. May be required to travel to SEC locations and data centers (<10% travel required) Candidates must be U.S. Citizen or have legal right to work in the USA without sponsorship (Agency check will be required for this position) Job Description: AECOM has an immediate opportunity for an Enterprise Performance Monitoring Specialist with a strong background in scripting to support a government agency's capabilities in Washington, D.C (Union Station / Red Line). This operational role will act as an engineer/system administrator in support of the Office of Information Technology for a Federal Regulatory agency. This position covers work that is complex and varied in nature and would be recognized as an expert within this discipline. Provides consultation services to our government client and is a key contributor to solving difficult technical problems with domain expertise. Provides technical guidance for directing and monitoring information and monitoring systems operations. Designs, builds, and implements systems to support data feeds. Directs compilation of records and reports concerning feeds operations and maintenance. Troubleshoots feeds performance issues. Monitors and responds to complex technical scripting problems. Interfaces with vendor and customer support service groups to ensure proper routing of feeds and data. The position will also require occasional weekend work as part of a formal change control process and occasional after hours work to respond to any issues when required. A successful candidate must be willing and capable of performing hands on remote access management activities and be responsible for those support activities within the team. Success in this role demands great customer service skills, strong technical knowledge and, excellent organizational skills.
