We pride ourselves on ensuring we deliver the best customer service possible to our people while building trust and relationships with all of our constituents\. **Job Summary** This role is to support the Director of Tax, and Senior Tax Manager based in London to run the Africa portfolio: + Manage the tax compliance status of the AECOM Africa companies using the in\-house Sharepoint management tool; + Manage the relationship with the external tax compliance providers, review the tax returns that they prepare, identifying any items that require resolutions or processes that need to be implemented to streamline the tax compliance process ; + Manage the relationship with the Africa finance function ensuring they are competent to use the One Source Tax Reporting tool, to deliver the Quarterly Tax Reporting process for AECOM companies in Africa\. A strong understanding of US GAAP tax reporting and the differences between US GAAP and local GAAP reporting is essential\. On an annual basis, liaising with the Africa finance function to ensure the posting of Return to Provision adjustments to ‘true up’ the reported US GAAP numbers to the submitted tax returns\. Liaising with our head office tax team in LA on calls and via written reports to deliver the Quarterly Reporting process in a seamless manner; + Working with the Senior Tax Manager & Tax Director to provide tax advice to the business, helping it to develop tax efficient contracting structures on cross border/multi\-jurisdiction bids\. AECOM has a particular focus on doing business in Africa\. This will involve inputting tax analyses into Financial Models, or reviewing and commenting upon tax in Financial Models, liaising with the in\-house Global Mobility team to analyse the Corporate Tax impact of people moving across borders, and working alongside the in\-house Legal Counsel to understand legal constraints and obligations of working in new geographies; + There will be an opportunity to be involved in special projects, for example repatriation planning, intra\-group financing, and cash management initiatives, external and internal corporate transactions, including M&A, restructurings and re\-financing's\. **Key Performance Areas:** + Ensuring tax returns are submitted by the submission deadline; + Complete quarterly reporting submissions on time, completely and accurately; + Timely responses to bidding teams requiring tax support; + Managing external advisors to deliver tax advice in the most efficient and cost effective way; **Key Working Relationships** : + Global Bidding teams \(providing tax advice on contract structures\); + Global Mobility team; + Tax department at Head Office in Los Angeles; + Local Financial Controllers **Minimum Requirements** + Minimum 5 years experience\. + Qualified Accountant + Appreciation of difference between US GAAP and Local GAAPs + Experience of reporting in a multinational company + International Corporate Tax experience, and an appreciation of wider taxes, VAT, WHT etc + Strong commercial acumen + Excellent organisational and planning skills + Effective communication, relationship building and interpersonal skills + Strong accounting and analytical skills + Ability to perform technical tax research + Ability to work on own initiative + Strong time management skills + Advanced knowledge of excel **Preferred Qualifications** Qualified Accountant\. **What We Offer** AECOM is a place where you can put your innovative thinking and business skills into high gear and work alongside other highly intelligent and motivated people\.
