Minimum Requirements: • Bachelor's degree in environmental, civil, chemical engineering or related field
• Minimum two years of experience in air quality permitting, data collection, data review and preparation of scientific documents (work performed in graduate school may satisfy this requirement). Individuals with Master's or PhD degree in related engineering discipline with no experience may enter at this level
• Or demonstrated equivalent combination of education, skills, knowledge, abilities and experience
• Working knowledge of environmental science principles and local environmental systems
• Ability to communicate verbally and in written form to impart technical information and interact with clients and regulatory personnel
• Effective time management and analytical skills
• Working knowledge of Excel (data management, calculations and analysis) and Power Point
• Understanding of personal role in supporting marketing of company services by delivering high-quality, accurate work products to clients
• Valid Driver's License
• Qualified applicants who are offered a position are required to pass a pre-employment substance abuse test
• Applicants without air permitting experience will not be considered for this position
• Due to the nature and location of work, United States Citizenship or Naturalized Citizenship is required
Job Description: The Environmental Air Permitting Specialist II position will contribute to a technically diverse team that provides on-site support at multiple client facilities in the greater Houston area.
Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:
• Prepare or assist in preparing, Title V permits, New Source Review permits, Permits by Rule or renewal permits as assigned
• Prepare Standard permit applications for Tanks
• Prepare calculations for minor permit amendments
• Conduct and complete regulatory, quantitative, and qualitative analyses and reports such as Emissions Inventory, Toxic Release Inventory and others
• Gather and analyze emissions data for Title V compliance
• Prepare routine compliance reports to agencies, for assigned clients
• Support marketing initiatives and actively participate in maintaining a safe work environment and supporting a culture of safety
Position reports to an Sr. Air Quality Consultant, but may work under the supervision of other project managers
