**About the Business Line** **Water**
We create comprehensive delivery solutions for water, wastewater and wet weather systems, desalination, water resources, water reuse, tunneling, and community infrastructure through traditional and alternative delivery services such as program management and design\-build\.
**Job Summary** Based in our expanding and recently refurbished Croydon office, we have a dedicated tunnelling team working on a number of major projects across both the UK and abroad, including Thames Water's £635 million Lee tunnel\.
In line with the growth of AECOM we are actively looking to expand our core tunneling business with a Tunnels Engineer\.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to join our core team in Croydon while also playing an active role in an expanding the business within the UK and overseas\. This is a challenging role involving technical delivery of projects within the transport and utility sectors\.

**Minimum Requirements**
+ The successful candidate must have experience working on tunnelling or underground projects\.The candidate must hold a minimum qualification of BSc, preferably in Civil Engineering, Civil & Structural Engineering or Engineering Geology\.
+ The candidate must be interested in tunnelling projects\.
+ The candidate must have the capability to satisfy client and business expectations\.
+ It is essential that the candidate is able to communicate effectively to internal and external clients, both verbally & in writing\.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Experience in some or all of the following sectors: Transportation \(road, rail and waterways\), Utilities \(water, gas and electric\), Power \(Hydro & Nuclear\)\.
+ Experience working on major tunnelling projects either domestically or internationally\.
+ Membership and an active interest in the British Tunneling Society and other professional societies would also be advantageous\.
+ An interest to become a chartered Engineer in the future\.
