**Job Summary**
This is an early career technical position with responsibilities in project and construction management\. Specific responsibilities will include working under project and construction managers onsite to manage onsite operations including sub\-contractors, schedule, budget, requests for information, safety, and provide construction oversight\. Excelling in this position is expected to lead to greater opportunities as a Field/Project Engineer for energy efficiency projects\.
The successful candidate shall provide professional construction services supporting project and construction managers on energy efficiency projects for the national Energy Efficiency Center of Excellence\. As part of the management team, the candidate will have responsibilities as the client’s representative in the field interacting with client \(end user\), contractors, and other external parties\. These responsibilities shall include overseeing field site activities, managing and logging Requests for Information \(RFIs\) from contractor and where appropriate, responding by interpreting plans and specifications\. Manages project schedule and budget with supervisor\. Discusses deviations from specified construction materials and procedures with engineer of record or supervisor\. Tracks and manages change orders\. Reviews contractor schedules, reviews contract submittals and payment applications to contractors\. Observes work in progress and documents conformance to quality, performance, safety and code requirements and maintains inspection records\. Conducts regular project review sessions with appropriate personnel to monitor the continuing progress of the project\. Examines workmanship of finished installations for standard conformity and approves installation\. Completes contract close\-out processes\. Implements and follows project and company safety procedures\.
**Minimum Requirements** Bachelors of Science in Engineering or Construction Management
Critical requirements include communication skills, teamwork skills \(especially with geographic dispersion\), confidence in a construction environment, and the ability to deliver high quality and creative solutions in a fast\-paced and ever\-evolving industry\.
**Preferred Qualifications** A passion in the areas of energy efficiency, alternative energy, and/or sustainability\.
Excellent written and oral communication skills\.
Strong management abilities, both individually and as part of a team\.
Strong interpersonal, organizational, creative problem\-solving, and leadership skills\.
Experience working on a project site and construction management of contractors\.
Good client interaction skills\.
