Teaching skills: - Must excel at teaching others design thinking in ways that resonate with a range of audiences. - Experience developing and facilitating workshops and creative sessions. Leadership skills: - Must have examples of problem solving where you have lead organizations to arrive at successful design solutions. - Experience must include a collaborative, interdisciplinary background, yet you are inclusive, understanding, and appreciative of teams that don’t have this exposure. - Adept with ambiguity yet act decisively, and are able to coach others through an ambiguous process. Research skills: - Must be an expert at translating observations into insights. Job Description: AECOM is hiring for a Subject Matter Expert - Design Strategist to work part-time at various locations including Camp Smith in Honolulu, Hawaii. Responsibilities: As a Design Strategist you will: - Lead teams through discovery research, synthesis, ideation, design, and testing of new product concepts. - Provide a strategic lens within projects that includes consideration of the overarching warfighting capability, roadmap from priorities list or Fleet need statement to program of record, etc. - Contribute to the development and execution of strategic frameworks and organizational processes to incorporate design thinking into the culture of PACFLT. - Support relevant staffs, including N1, N9, and the CIG, in translating, crafting, and coaching design thinking learning experiences that teach the skillset of curiosity, prototyping, and creative problem solving. Strategy skills: - You love ambiguous problems and are able to capture a clear and concise design strategy. - You hold human desirability, technical feasibility, and operational viability in equal weight on a design project. - You love technology and strive to understand how it works with design. - You thrive in making the complex simple and digestible. Design skills: - You play between strategy and UX. - You create narratives. - You are a visual thinker and adept at communicating via various creative software platforms and/or media.
