**Job Summary**
Aecom are recruiting for a Principal Electrical Engineer to join our established and ever growing Transmission & Distribution unit in our Edinburgh or Glasgow office\.
Our transmission and distribution sector primarily focus is the management, design and supervision of electrical power projects in both transmission and distribution, with a primary focus on transmission projects, including all the major UK and Ireland transmission system operators\. The unit also provides electrical engineering services to a wide range of renewables, industrial, property and other development projects requiring a medium or high voltage electrical infrastructure\.
In addition to Electrical Engineer duties, the successful Principal Electrical Engineer will be required to manage a range of multi\-disciplinary projects in the T&D sector\. Responsibilities will include the client interface, preparation of bids and proposals, and then managing the delivery of the projects in accordance with the company's quality, safety and environmental procedures\.
This is a great opportunity to develop your own business within a business, the successful Principal Electrical Engineer will be involved in all aspects of a project from leading a bid and tender through to the delivery of projects as the Lead Engineer or Project Manager; skill sets that are all required in your future progression to Associate and Technical Director\.
The ideal candidate would have a recognised technical specialism in the high voltage transmission sector, where Aecom is particularly looking for skills in high voltage cables, & Control or HVDC applications\. Transmission and Distribution is a growth area for Aecom and the Principal Electrical Engineer can expect to develop their career as the power division continues to grow, business or man management opportunities are likely to emerge and the successful Principal Electrical Engineer will be able to take advantage of these\.
**Minimum Requirements**
You will ideally have:
BSc /BEng Electrical Engineering \(Hons\)
Chartered Engineer status or be on route to obtaining Chartered status
Experience of working in the UK & international transmission and/or distribution sector
Experience of medium and high voltage projects including feasibility studies, concept design, detailed design, modelling, site supervision, testing and acceptance\.
Extensive experience at voltages up to 132kV is essential and experience to at least 400kV is preferred\.

Power system analysis \(DIgSILENT, PSSe, EDSA, CDEGS, EMTP, CAPE, ASPEN etc\)\.
