**Job Summary** AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Construction Estimator for immediate employment for the Rancho Cordova, CA office\.
Responsibilities include:
• Creates estimates at various design phases
• Trends estimates against changes in scope of work
• Works with Project Managers to evaluate appropriateness of budgets
• Makes presentations to client staff regarding estimates and trends
• Creates estimates of architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical and other disciplines at detail level and conceptual level
• Develop conceptual estimates
• Estimate construction documents
• Evaluate labor requirements and adequacy
• Develop and maintain cost database
• Evaluate market conditions for cost trends
• Estimate and negotiate Change Orders, extended overhead and claims
Works on large and complex project estimates which will be used for the analysis and control of budgets\. May recommend and propose the use of resources to meet schedules and goals\. Works on projects of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including an understanding of current business trends\. Reviews proposal specifications, drawings, etc\. to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate\. May act as an advisor to others in the department to meet schedules and/or resolve technical problems\.
**Minimum Requirements**
• Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering or related field or equivalent practical experience
• Minimum 10 years of experience in estimating
• Experience estimating public works projects in excess of $30m
• Thorough knowledge of estimating detailed and conceptual aspects of all disciplines
• Ability to pass CDCR security clearance for entrance to existing prisons
• Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre\-employment substance abuse test
**Preferred Qualifications** Justice / Corrections experience highly preferred
