**Job Summary**
The Design & Consulting Services Division of AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Senior Inspector for immediate employment in the Stamford office\. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career in Construction Engineering and Inspection, specific to Transportation projects\. The incumbent can look forward to projects including Merritt Parkway Safety Improvements, Resurfacing, Enhancements and Bridge Improvements Project\.
Incumbent Responsibilities:
Assist with verifying that inspection staff is thoroughly familiar with plans and specifications for work and with preparation of documentation of work performed in accordance with CTDOT's procedures
Verify that work conforms to project plans and specifications and perform measurements necessary for periodic payments to the contractor and to document the contractor's daily operations
Sample materials that are to be incorporated into any work as required by the State's material testing requirements
Perform all administrative functions associated with a project in accordance with CTDOT’s "Construction Manual"
Identify and clearly define any issues, concerns or problems as they arise and promptly report such to the Chief Inspector
Be aware of environmental concerns related to a project and monitor contractor compliance with the environmental controls
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed above\.
**Minimum Requirements** High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum five years of experience in civil, highway or appropriate engineering field of which at least two years shall be in field inspection activities
Considerable knowledge of construction materials, methods
Ability to maintain field and office records
Ability to perform complex quantity and engineering computations
Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications
Ability to deal effectively with people
Certifications: NICET Level II Certification in Transportation/Highway Construction is required, except for those persons possessing a current Professional Engineer's License registered in the State of Connecticut \(PE\) or a Bachelor of Science
Night shift work required
Valid Driver's License
