More information on AECOM and its services can be found at www\.aecom\.com\. **About the Business Line** **Environment** Our team of environment specialists offers clients expertise in air quality, impact analysis and permitting, environmental health and safety management consulting/due diligence, remediation consulting/engineering and construction/site restoration, specialty and emerging technologies, waste services and water and natural resources\. **Job Summary** The Environmental Business Unit of AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Architectural Historian for immediate employment in the Portland, Oregon Office\. This position is a variable part\-time project\-hire and work days and times will be determined on an as\-needed basis\. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below: + Prepare architectural descriptions and historic property boundary descriptions + Prepare National Register of Historic Places evaluations consistent with the requirements of 36 CFR 800 + Prepare Section 4\(f\) de minimus determinations + Perform fieldwork in the Portland metropolitan area on a project\-specific and temporary basis + Prepare a historic resources report for a transportation project in Oregon **Minimum Requirements** + Bachelor's Degree in Architectural History, Historic Preservation, or related field + 2\+ years experience in field survey and National Register evaluation of architectural resources preferably in the context of regulatory compliance + Excellent research and writing skills are required + An understanding of building fabric and the ability to read historic structures is crucial to this position + Applicants must have experience in report writing and are expected to have strong, clear and concise writing skills and be able to work efficiently and sometimes independently in a professional office environment and in the field + The applicant must be flexible and feel at ease investigating out of the ordinary building types + Successfully passed the Oregon Department of Transportation cultural resources/architectural history compliance training test **Preferred Qualifications** + Master's Degree a plus + Experience in the interpretation and evaluation of infrastructure, energy, engineering/industrial and military resources desirable **What We Offer** AECOM is a place where you can put your innovative thinking and business skills into high gear and work alongside other highly intelligent and motivated people\.
