AECOM’s Global Support Services \(GSS\) organization resides within AECOM’s Government business line and is comprised of three divisions — International Development, Operations and Mission Support, and Global Programs\. GSS has the international presence, personnel networks and procurement infrastructure to deliver support for any mission, anywhere\. **Job Summary** The USAID Effective Planning and Services Project \(EPSP\) is a bilateral effort in partnership with the Ministry of Planning, Monitoring and Administrative Reform \(MPMAR or the “Ministry”\) to address selected issues identified by the Government of Egypt as priorities for meeting the basic needs and aspirations of the Egyptian citizen through more effective planning, government service delivery and administrative structures\.
The general, overall objectives of EPSP aim to strengthen legislative, lawmaking and legal reform processes and to enhance legislative management, accountability, and transparency by providing training on policy analysis, bill drafting, and constituent relations\. EPSP also promotes and supports decentralization, assists with anti\-corruption reforms, and strengthens public sector executive functions through training on financial planning, strategic planning, policy reform, accountability and oversight\.
**Overall Responsibilities**
The **Policy Research Assistant** shall be responsible for assisting in implementing policy and planning assignments conducted under the supervision of the planning and policy senior advisor\.
**Tasks**
+ Provide technical support to EPSP planning and policy research activities\.
+ Prepare presentations on different topics within the scope of the project\.
+ Conduct web and library data and information search and collection when needed\.
+ Attend meetings in EPSP and out of EPSP with relevant stakeholders such as ministries, and public authorities\.
+ Ensure the documentation of all events, meetings and research\.
+ Take notes and report on the meetings, workshops, conferences, and other relevant events\.
+ Follow up on logistics of workshops/conferences with communication staff in the project \(availability of necessary equipment, catering, and reservations etc…\)\.
+ Perform other relevant duties and responsibilities as may deem necessary\.
+ Implement the above\-mentioned duties and responsibilities either from EPSP’s office or from MPMAR’s premises or those of the project’s other stakeholders\.
**Minimum Requirements**
+ Must be an Egyptian national
+ Proficiency with research techniques and analysis, along with high level organizational and communication skills\.
+ Postgraduate university degree in a relevant field preferably in economics, public policy, public administration, and political science\.
+ Minimum 3 years of experience\.
+ Proficiency in English and Arabic languages\.
+ Excellent Writing skills in both Arabic and English language\.
+ Ability to work collaboratively and productively with others to achieve desired results\.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Previous experience in development preferred
