**About the Business Line** **Water**
We create comprehensive delivery solutions for water, wastewater and wet weather systems, desalination, water resources, water reuse, tunneling, and community infrastructure through traditional and alternative delivery services such as program management and design\-build\.
**Job Summary** We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Flood and Drainage Engineer to join our client office in Southwark, London\.
The Water team brings together the skills of project managers, hydrologists, flood engineers, water scientists, numerical modellers, and environmental and planning specialists to provide integrated, sustainable and cost\-effective solutions\. Activities include; flood defences, dams, water supply and water treatment plants, pumping stations, pipe networks, sewerage, wastewater treatment, and outfalls\. Our clients include local and national government, including the Environment Agency, as well as developers, architects, planners and contractors\.
As an Assistant Flood and Drainage Engineer you will have the following responsibilities:
To provide design, build and maintenance services and operations for flood and drainage infrastructure projects\.
To manage effective use of all available resources in order to implement statutory construction, design and management policies whilst complying with local and corporate priorities\.
To provide concise and auditable flood and drainage related asset information to support funding bids and funding allocations\.
Manage the development, updating and monitoring of flood related asset registers including ownership and key attributes in accordance with appropriate code of practices and guidance\.
To prepare for all stakeholders, reports, briefings and communications detailing information, guidance and strategies in flood and drainage asset management services\.
To undertake technical design of flood and drainage engineering related schemes, and to make decisions on technical options, taking into account the latest and the most innovative developments in the field of engineering and asset management\.
To manage and supervise on site construction of schemes and projects in accordance with Construction, Design and Management 2007 Regulations, recognised project management practices, contract specification and local terms and conditions\.
**Minimum Requirements**
+ Understanding of the Flood Risk Regulations 2009 and Flood & Water Management Act 2010\.
+ Experience of Project Management, bids, proposals and financial control\.
+ CPD relating to CDM, NRWSA and H&S\.
+ Experience of designing and implementing flood and drainage related infrastructure projects and schemes\.
+ Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office – Word, Excel and PowerPoint
+ Excellent working knowledge of AutoCAD and similar packages such as TuFlow\.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Degree educated in a relevant subject such a Civil or Water Engineering, ideally to MEng level or equivalent\.
+ On route to gaining Chartered status with ICE, CIWEM or equivalent\.
