**Job Summary**
Aecom are currently recruiting for a Senior or Principal Wind Turbine Engineer to join our Power Generation & Renewables division based from our Edinburgh office\.
The Wind Turbine Engineer is AECOM’s WTG expert able to provide clients and colleagues with advice on all engineering, and commercial aspects of WTGs \(on/offshore\) throughout the project lifecycle\. You shall ensure that the WTG engineering package for renewable energy projects is delivered on time, on budget and with zero errors\. The role will also involve the coaching and development of junior staff\.
The successful Senior or Principal Wind Turbine Engineer will be involved in a number of day to day duties that include but won’t be limited to; provide support at bid preparation phase, review and negotiate turbine supply and warranty contracts on behalf of clients, carry out WTG technology reviews to ensure that the company knowledge is kept up to date, author WTG tender documentation for supply and O&M, carry out WTG tender reviews and provide recommendations, perform due diligence review on WTG related contracts, oversee delivery of TSA/ O&M contracts for WTG’s and snagging of WTG’s prior taking over and certify construction completion of specific parts for milestone payments\.
**Minimum Requirements**
\- Higher education \(HNC or above\) in highly numeric subject or Science/Engineering based subject\.
\- Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering degree an advantage\.
\- Experience of delivering Renewable Energy projects with focus on the WTG package\.
\- Ability and willingness to work at height\.
\- Willingness to travel both in the UK and globally\.
\- Excellent IT skills particularly MS Excel/Word/Project and PowerPoint\.
\- Technical competence, self\-motivation, ability to use own initiative, flexible, problem solving approach\.
\- Experience of working within a multi\-disciplinary engineering environment\.
\- Ability to communicate clearly & concisely both verbally & written\.
\- Excellent written English and ability to explain technical issues to non\-engineers, including Clients\.
\- The successful candidate will be required to produce and review reports for clients and so attention to detail, reliability and good organisational skills are paramount\.
\- Ability to influence and motivate stakeholders within a complex environment\.
\- Ability to lead/chair and present at meeting etc\.
\- Able to collate, analyse and act upon complex and diverse information from a variety of sources and give advice for project level decision making\.
**Preferred Qualifications**
Subject related Master’s degree\.
Experience in consultancy environment, and in a client facing role\.
Non\-UK project experience especially in developing countries\.
Knowledge of particular specialist skills for example:
\- Composite technology
\- Aerodynamics
\- Rotating Equipment design
\- H&S related to WTGs, e\.g\. WTSR\.
Recognised Project Management training an advantage
People and team management experience
