AECOM’s Global Support Services \(GSS\) organization resides within AECOM’s Government business line and is comprised of three divisions — International Development, Operations and Mission Support, and Global Programs\. GSS has the international presence, personnel networks and procurement infrastructure to deliver support for any mission, anywhere\. We optimize the reliability, availability and sustainability of equipment, logistics systems and facilities for clients around the world\. GSS supports the U\.S\. Government, non\-U\.S\. Governments and industry clients with worldwide program management, planning, design, operations and maintenance, logistics, aviation services, security, international development, environmental and civil engineering and mission and intelligence support\.
**Job Summary** AECOM has a great opportunity for a **Security Shift Supervisor** on our AC First project in Afghanistan\. The selected candidate supervises a professional team encompassing a wide range of functions within the discipline\. Interviews, selects and places candidates into open positions\. Evaluates staff, comparing objectives and achievements in the assessment\. Coaches employees in their professional career development and process improvements\. Issues discipline whenever required\. Recommends termination or contract non\-renewal when appropriate\. Responsible for day\-to\-day operation of department\. Provides guidance and assistance to assigned personnel on current principles, practices, and procedures to be employed; quantity and quality of work expected; and tools and materials to be used\. Ensures all security guards remain alert, understand their post responsibilities, and are in proper uniform and within the established grooming standards\. Plans work schedules, sequence of operations, and distribution of work; designates workers and assigns work; explains work requirements, methods and procedures; and assists with resolving problems\. Ensures that all FN guard members adhere to all security instructions and procedures as outlined in the PWS, U\.S\. Army Regulations, and verbal guidance from the supervisors\. Ensures all posts are manned as stated on the duty roster and security guards are manning their post per established SOPs, WIs, and the PWS\. Ensures all security guards remain “fit for duty”\. Responsible for providing observation security and force protection support\. Responds and reports to alarms, suspicious activities, and violators in accordance with established procedures and policy\. Assists in force protection operations throughout the security force areas of operation as directed\. Ensures assigned guard force is fully versed in the duties and responsibilities of the position to which assigned and that they perform those duties in an efficient, effective, and professional manner\. Assists in establishing, updating and maintaining force protection Standard Operating Procedures\. Prepares, publishes, and posts daily duty scheduling\. Provides daily support and guidance to all security forces\. Ensures that all security members adhere to all security instructions and procedures\. Provides leadership and guidance consistent with and in support of section / corporate goals and objectives\. Mentors subordinate security guards in training and personnel experiences and review the force at guard mount to ensure all guards are ready for duty\. Remains vigilant and ensures all reasonable easures to protect life, property and information are taken\. Assists with alert procedures as directed by the Security Operations Supervisor and Security Operations Manager\. Reports any loss, damage or destruction of Government or company property to the Security Operations Supervisor\. Maintains alert notification and recall rosters\. Performs other duties as assigned\.
**Minimum Requirements**
+ High school diploma or equivalent required\.
+ 2 or more years of supervisory experience required\.
+ Must possess a thorough knowledge of security procedures and operations, including principles and practices of modern crime prevention, criminal and traffic investigations, apprehension and rules of evidence\.
+ Must have active secret clearance\.
+ Must have effective computer skills and be proficient in Microsoft Office Programs\.
+ Must have strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to work and communicate with others effectively\.
+ Must have the ability to speak and write effectively and to evaluate written and oral reports\.
+ Valid U\.S\. drivers license is required\.
+ Ability to perform job duties efficiently and effectively during a 77 hour work week\.
+ Must be able to lift 25 Lbs\. continuously, 50 Lbs intermittently\.
+ Must be able to work in extreme environmental conditions including dust and high temperatures\.
+ Must be able to endure long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions\.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ 5 or more year of civilian or military police experience preferred\.
+ U\.S\. Army MOS 31B preferred\.
