The minimum requirements for this position are as follows:
High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of a technical school, trade school, or armed services technical school curriculum equivalent to Navy "C" School or course of training in electricity, electronics, avionics, mechanics, or engineering technology or completion of at least 30 semester hours (45 quarter hours) of course studies at an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical curriculum.
Five years’ electronic maintenance in the following areas:
-Digital/analog signal processing;
-Radar and Radar theory
-Electromechanical devices;
-Communications;
-DC power supplies;
-RF Test equipment;
-RF signal processing (VHF, UHF, and microwave);
-Low voltage AC equipment;
-Antenna systems;
-Primary and secondary power equipment;
-Portable AC Generators
Familiarity with Naval Aviation Maintenance and Quality Assurance Programs or equivalent. Physically able to assist in lifting/carrying/loading EW Pod/equipment if required. Must be willing to work on flight lines in and around aircraft. Must possess a valid state Driver’s License. Must obtain and maintain a valid state class "A" Commercial Driver's License . Must maintain current CPR/First Aid certification and COMSEC certification. Must Obtain and Maintain a Government Secret Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
Two years' operating experience with Electronic Warfare systems or operations.
Current Transferrable Secret Clearance.
Job Description: Maintains all EW Pod systems/sub-systems and associated equipment. Works under supervision of EW Pod Shop Lead Technician. Maintains, repairs, inspects, troubleshoots, or programs Electronic Warfare systems equipment or components using complex test instruments such as pulse generators, spectrum analyzers, signal generators and computer analytical equipment.
Work typically requires understanding of the interrelationships of analog, digital, mechanical, and RF operating system diagnostics and circuits. Makes circuit analyses, calculating waveforms, and tracing relationships in signal flow. Reviews, analyzes, or applies engineering, technical or maintenance specifications, policies, standards or procedures.
Organizes, analyzes, and prepares reports or presentations of technical data and information. Plans and performs tests and evaluations of systems equipment or components. Compiles, processes, or analyzes test data and results. Coordinates and maintains base of operations facility and detachment related maintenance support systems. Required to serve as a project flight technician in support of airborne DT&E and Fleet training CAS support requirements. Must meets all CAS contractor, FAA, and NAWCAD imposed flight qualifications required to fly in this support role on CAS aircraft.
Extensive equipment handling, transport, and administrative processing to prepare/deliver equipment to meet exercise requirements. Documents maintenance actions in IEMS, various log books, and databases. Provides technical guidance and on-the-job training to lower-level technicians.
Other required duties include:
-Maintains asset control on all equipment, and completes DD1149s for equipment issue.
-Provides technical support to visiting engineers.
-Equipment delivery and Flightline/Equipment support to remote locations during exercises.
-May assist in equipment installation.
-Forklift operation
