Minimum Requirements: Minimum Requirements:
1. Must be a US Citizen.
2. Must have a valid driver’s license.
3. High School diploma or demonstrated equivalent.
4. Six years of experience as a maintenance HVAC Technician in an industrial environment, or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience.
5. EPA approved CFC certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Associates degree or equivalent trade school credentials preferred.
2. Experience with chiller operations (centrifugal)
3. Experience with Raised Floor AC systems
4. Working knowledge of energy management systems (building automation systems)
5. Ability to solve complex HVAC / BAS issues to the root cause of the issue and to train lower level techs in these processes.
6. Experience with Siemens Insight or equivalent system
7. Security clearance
8. Knowledge of Lockheed Martin processes preferred.

Physical Requirements:
• Requires ability to read and understand information contained in a variety of documents or displayed on a computer screen.
• Requires ability to use a variety of office equipment and to operate a computer keyboard to access data bases, to send/receive messages and to prepare documents.
• Requires ability to attend meetings throughout the site and travel to other URS, customer and/or vendor locations in the area, as well as some air travel to more distant locations.
• Requires the ability to communicate with others on the telephone and in one-on-one or group discussions, meetings and presentations.
• Requires some moving of light to medium weight materials into desks, filing cabinets and other storage locations.
• Some tasks will require repetitive wrist movements.
Special Requirements:
• Required to wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed.
• Coping with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment so that acceptable levels of performance and overall contribution are maintained.
• Must complete daily paperwork.
Work Environment:
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles or dust; high voltage; toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. May be required to work in confined, restricted and/or hot areas.
Job Description: URS, an AECOM company, is seeking an industrial Facility HVAC Supervisor in Gaithersburg, MD! Typical work hours are Monday – Friday, 6:00am – 2:30pm; hours may vary based on business demand.
Responsibilities include planning, coordinating and supervising activities and distributing workload to maintain productivity and quality objectives in administrative or support services. Research and formulate related policies and procedures. Train personnel. Coordinate and monitor the maintenance of equipment and supplies. Interface with the client. Ensure all associated administrative procedures are current and audit ready. This position supervises teams that work 24/7 shift coverage and weekend rotations.
Essential Functions
• Assess daily workload and interface with personnel to maintain a balanced work flow. Reassign headcount as necessary to maintain productivity and quality objectives.
• Maintain a high level of expertise of administrative functions. Provide direction and assistance to personnel and interface with client to resolve problems.
• Ensure that employees are adequately trained, provide assistance and encouragement and develop suitable replacements.
• Set meaningful departmental objectives and specific job standards by which they will be appraised; provide adequate guidance and supervision; optimize employees’ skills; appraise performance against objectives; recommend promotions; ensure employees are properly paid for sustained performance; create an environment that encourages excellence; recognize and reward employees; set a good example.
• Establish and maintain effective two-way communications to understand the needs and concerns of employees; communicate employee attitudes and expectations to higher management; properly manage employee personal information.

• Periodically audit completed work to ensure established standards have been met.

• Assist workers in diagnosing malfunctions in machinery and equipment.
• Maintain corporate and site standards concerning quality, housekeeping, safety and security.
