More information on AECOM and its services can be found at www\.aecom\.com\. **About the Business Line** **Water** We create comprehensive delivery solutions for water, wastewater and wet weather systems, desalination, water resources, water reuse, tunneling, and community infrastructure through traditional and alternative delivery services such as program management and design\-build\. **Job Summary** We are currently recruiting for a Design Manager – Water Engineering to join our well\-established and experienced team in Glasgow\. This role will be seconded into our Caledonia Water Alliance project at a nearby client office site\. The Water team brings together the skills of project managers, hydrologists, flood engineers, water scientists, numerical modellers, and environmental and planning specialists to provide integrated, sustainable and cost\-effective solutions\. Activities include; flood defences, dams, water supply and water treatment plants, pumping stations, pipe networks, sewerage, wastewater treatment, and outfalls\. Our clients include local and national government, including the Environment Agency, as well as developers, architects, planners and contractors\. As the Design Manager you will have the following responsibilities: Monitoring budget and scheduling constraints\. Identify staff requirements\. Taking responsibility for ensuring competent designs are in place and approved to suit delivery requirements\. Reviewing and obtaining approval for outline and detailed designs of water mains rehabilitation and renewal projects including all necessary investigations and consultations in accordance with Scottish Water’s established specifications and procedures\. Cost & schedule control and reporting ensuring that staff utilisation is maximised\. Monitor & control change and carry out regular project reviews in line with the project management plan\. Liaison with modelling engineers and construction delivery teams\. Guide and assist junior staff in preparing design information for both outline design \(Cx2\) and detailed design \(Cx3\) stages\. Review and approve junior staff design information Liaise with key stakeholders: AIM, CSD, Leakage, Delivery, Shared Services, Fire Authorities, Roads Authorities etc\. Promote H&S requirements as the minimum level expected\. Review & approve H&S documentation prepared by junior staff\. Carry out staff performance reviews and goal setting\. **Minimum Requirements** + Understanding of CDM and how it is applied to rehabilitation design and construction\. + Knowledge and understanding of design requirements of rehabilitation and replacement techniques, rehabilitation design at both outline and detailed levels, rehabilitation investigation requirements and the application of results in determining design interventions\. + Knowledge of build\-ability and traffic management constraints of rehabilitation techniques\. + Understanding of Scottish Water DOMS procedures and stakeholder requirement\. + In possession of a National Water Hygiene card, Scottish Water DOMS modules 1 – 12 and a CSCS card\. **Preferred Qualifications** + Degree educated or equivalent in a relevant Engineering discipline\. + Experience of network investigations, detailed design and project & people management\. **What We Offer** AECOM is a place where you can put your innovative thinking and business skills into high gear and work alongside other highly intelligent and motivated people\.
