Our team of environment specialists offers clients expertise in air quality, impact analysis and permitting, environmental health and safety management consulting/due diligence, remediation consulting/engineering and construction/site restoration, specialty and emerging technologies, waste services and water and natural resources\.
**Job Summary**
AECOM is a leading provider of engineering, construction and technical services for public agencies and private sector companies around the world\. AECOM has more than 50,000 employees in a network of offices in 50 countries\. The Raleigh, NC office is seeking a dynamic and experienced air quality project engineer\.
This position is with the Raleigh, NC Air Quality Team and requires completing projects on time and accurately\. The air quality engineer will provide technical support to a variety of existing clients and contribute to proposal and marketing efforts in pursuit of new business\.
Responsibilities of this position will include executing projects involving air quality\-related environmental compliance services including performing studies and analyses, regulatory research, auditing, creating spreadsheets, and compiling and writing reports and other documents\. The candidate will successfully lead tasks and execute projects while meeting cost, schedule, safety, and quality objectives\. The candidate will effectively lead project teams by coordinating and communicating with project team members, other project managers, and other AECOM offices and will support the professional development and growth of junior level staff\. Compliance projects related to other environmental media may also be supported, as the candidate's qualifications allow\.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
• Manage Project Tasks \- will train to achieve AECOM Project Manager Certification
• Provide technical support to existing clients
• Support marketing efforts for new and existing clients
• Interact with clients
• Complete projects on time and accurately
• Promote and demonstrate a positive, team\-oriented attitude
• Perform compliance auditing
• Strategic regulatory analysis
• Interface with regulators
• Develop technical presentations
• Conduct internal technical reviews and detail checks
• Review draft permits
• Negotiate permit conditions with regulatory agencies
• Evaluate the effectiveness of control technologies in achieving emission reductions and the cost of controls
**Minimum Requirements**
• Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering/science, chemical engineering, or related engineering/scientific field
• 5\+ years of air quality project experience
• Experience coordinating technical tasks, working in project teams, writing reports, documenting technical analyses, communicating with clients, and managing budgets
• Must have \(1\) Strong organizational and time management skills, \(2\) Strong written and oral communication, quantitative, and interpersonal skills, and \(3\) Strong work ethic and professional demeanor
• Independent thinker with a strategic mindset while being detail oriented and able to work as part of a team
• Proactive on projects and demonstrate initiative
• Proficient use of PC\- based applications \(MS Word and Excel\) and good typing skills are required, as well as a motivated, hard\-working team player with attention to detail
