**Job Summary** The PM/CM Business Line is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Project Inspector for immediate employment in the Akron/Cleveland, Ohio office\. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career in Construction Management and Inspection Services specific for civil construction such as Highways, Bridges, Buildings and/or Government Projects\. The incumbent can look forward to projects including various types of highways, bridges, railways, buildings, and water plants\.
Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
+ Work independently or as part of a team working closely with the Project Manager and Resident Engineer in reviewing and advising on all aspects of construction inspection services, including but not limited to safety input and oversight, constructability reviews, design input, scheduling/logistics input, and document interpretation
+ On\-site management and inspection of various elements of construction involved with highways, bridges, and buildings
+ Create daily reports along with other documentation measures to accurately document progress
+ Maintain organized, detailed and up\-to\-date field office files to be readily accessible by AECOM and the client
+ Administer and implement QA/QC programs
+ Assist in change order review
+ Assist in review of submittals and RFIs \(request for information\)
+ Attend pre\-construction meetings
+ Coordinate construction activities between the Owner, Contractors and any other affected party
+ Projects likely to include all aspects of civil construction for clients such as The Ohio Department of Transportation, The Ohio Turnpike and Infrastructure Commission, County Engineers and Local Municipalities
**Minimum Requirements**
+ Related Engineering or Construction Technology two\-year college degree may substitute for two years of the required experience
+ Minimum 5\+ years of experience as a civil, structural, or any inter\-discipline construction inspector
+ Must have experience inspecting construction operations including: reinforced concrete structures including piles, footings, retaining walls and bridges, grading/earthwork, drainage pipe and inlets, subgrade and base material courses, asphalt concrete or PCC paving, utility relocation, general highway lighting and landscaping, electrical / mechanical systems, roofingsystems, glazing, masonry, structural steel, building enclosures
+ NICET Highway Construction Level II Certification required or must obtain within six \(6\) months of hire, or two\-year degree
+ ACI Certification required or must obtain within six \(6\) months of hire
+ OAIMA Ohio Level I Aggregate Technician Training required or must obtain within six \(6\) months of hire
+ Ohio Department of Transportation Flexible Pavement Training required or must obtain within six \(6\) months of hire
+ Must be willing to obtain additional certifications, as required, to adhere to The Ohio Department of Transportation's prequalification process
+ Must have good verbal and written communication skills and be able to use MS Word and Excel software to write inspection reports and track project progress
+ Ability to work independently or lead a team
+ Ability to manage relationships with client, contractors, local inspectors & code officials, etc\.
+ Must be able to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
+ Must have basic knowledge of Quality control and quality assurance procedures
+ Must be willing to work nights and weekends as required by project schedule
+ Valid driver's license required
