Requisition Number: FS104766 Interest Category: Operations & Maintenance Interest Sub Category: Operations & Maintenance Job Title : Computer Operator III Employment Category/Status: full-time Type of Position: Regular Hire Country: U.S. State: Virginia City: Norfolk Minimum Requirements: URS Corporation is now hiring for a qualified Computer Operator in support of U.S. Navy operations at NAS Norfolk, VA.(HM-12/ HM-14/ HM-15) Vocational/technical training beyond high school and 4 years of job-related experience. Excellent communications and analytical skills; demonstrated working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs. This position may require the ability to investigate, troubleshoot, and design solutions to problems in operational hardware and software. Must be familiar with OMA NALCOMIS/MDS NALCOMIS/ and or had a Navy Enlisted Classification Code (NEC) of 6303/6304/ or attend Analyst Refresher course (Course D/E-555-0055). Must be able to meet physical requirements associated with and/or pass medical examination requirements related to performing daily assigned tasks. Expertise in software, MS Outlook, Excel, and Word, operating programs. Job Description: Analyze existing or proposed system or design data processing programs and related procedures to process data. Use a multi-step process from system investigation, analysis, design, implementation and maintenance to bring new or changed systems to meet customer’s requirements. Essential Responsibilities: 1. Interpret program requirements, audit auxiliary peripheral units to ascertain correctness of input data, and check condition and arrangement of tapes. 2. Coordinate inputs/data in support of meeting contractual requirements. 3. Organize the input and output of data from the computer. 4. Investigate and locate source of non-standard irregularities; analyze and recover program operations in complex error situations. 5. Comply with computer operation standards and procedures. 6. Provide technical support to computer users and organize sequence of events in computer operation cycle. 7. Provide general maintenance and installation support of computer equipment. 8. Provide direct customer interface to identify and support data base requirements. 9. Ensure general guidelines and technical standards are being met. 10. Establish and maintain a filing system of databases for tracking and inventory of database information. 11. Develop, process, and submit data reports, charts, graphs, and displays, for technical presentations and meetings. 12. Coordinate all MAF delete actions with Maintenance Control. 13. Perform system and database backups, database restores, and detachment processing functions. 14. Coordinate data transfer requirements between NALCOMIS OMA and other automated information systems. 15. Collect, Maintain, and distribute in narrative, tabular, chart, or graph form the data required to monitor, plan, schedule, and control the maintenance effort. 16. Review NALCOMIS report to inquiries to identify trends. 17. Use the MDS/NALCOMIS to assist in identifying possible deficiencies in technical training or documentation discrepancies.
