**About the Business Line** **Environment**
Our team of environment specialists offers clients expertise in air quality, impact analysis and permitting, environmental health and safety management consulting/due diligence, remediation consulting/engineering and construction/site restoration, specialty and emerging technologies, waste services and water and natural resources\.
**Job Summary** AECOM is seeking a Senior Geologist to join the Los Angeles, California office\. The position is temporary/part\-time and includes both office work and field work\. The AECOM Los Angeles office Geotehcnical Department is involved with large, interesting and complex geotechnical engineering projects\. The successful candidate will complement our existing geotechnical engineers and geologists to perform technical work and assist in preparing scope of work in proposal efforts to clients\.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below:
+ Direct and supervise geotechnical assignments \(both field and office\) and manage entire projects or specific elements of projects
+ Direct a team and perform geologic interpretation of data at complex sites
+ Provide technical review for projects to comply with applicable building codes
+ Schedule, direct, and supervise field programs and subcontractors as needed
+ Perform business development and marketing activities as\-needed with Principal level staff to capture new clients for AECOM
+ Prepare proposals and assist in preparation of large\-scale proposals
+ Direct staff to perform geology tasks
+ Responsible for preparing complete drafts of geotechnical reports
+ Under supervision of the project manager or senior staff, represent AECOM and interact in a professional manner with client and subcontractor representatives while on field assignments
+ Understands and applies company, client and site Health and Safety standards
**Minimum Requirements**
+ Bachelor's Degree in Geology or related field
+ 10\+ years' experience practicing engineering geology in Southern California
+ Professional Geologist \(PG\) required
+ Proficient in Word, Excel and Power Point
+ Track record of developing and maintaining client relationships
+ Experience preparing proposals for new work
+ Experience with large geotechnical and engineering geology projects
+ Experience in successful leadership of diverse project teams
+ Experience with geotechnical/geological investigation, evaluation, recommendations and construction
+ Demonstrated professional judgment, consistency and attention to detail with track record of high quality work products
+ Demonstrated performance of independent analysis and demonstrated strong problem\-solving and organizational skills
+ Strong oral and written communication skills
+ Experience preparing reports that demonstrate technical knowledge
+ Strong personal safety awareness
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Master's Degree a plus
