**About the Business Line** **Environment**
Our team of environment specialists offers clients expertise in air quality, impact analysis and permitting, environmental health and safety management consulting/due diligence, remediation consulting/engineering and construction/site restoration, specialty and emerging technologies, waste services and water and natural resources\.
**Job Summary** AECOM are currently looking to recruit an Assistant Environmental Consultant to join their established team in Bristol\.
The successful applicant will work within a close\-knit team supporting neighborhood forums/parish councils and local authorities to undertake Strategic Environmental Assessment \(SEA\) / Sustainability Appraisal for their Neighborhood and Local Plans\. The chosen candidate will have a range of responsibilities including research, report writing, client liaison, business development, including proposal writing, and seminar/conference attendance\. The successful applicant will be part of a wider team working on natural capital/ecosystem services, climate change mitigation/adaptation, infrastructure sustainability, social science research and equality impact assessment\.
**Minimum Requirements** To be successful in this role we're looking for candidates with a good understanding of the English planning system and the theory of Strategic Environmental Assessment \(SEA\) and Sustainability Appraisal \(SA\)\.
As well as the above we're also looking for the following;
\- Practical experience of, or enthusiasm for, undertaking SEA / SA
\- Excellent writing and report preparation skills
\- Attention to detail
\- A strong team player but with the capacity for independent working
\- Familiarity with Geographic Information Systems \(GIS\)
**Preferred Qualifications** Bachelors degree in geography, town planning, environmental science, social science or economics
Masters degree in town planning, environmental science, social science or economics
