Governments and industry clients with worldwide program management, planning, design, operations and maintenance, logistics, aviation services, security, international development, environmental and civil engineering and mission and intelligence support\. **Job Summary** AECOM has an exciting opportunity for an experienced **Heavy Equipment Operator** in Fort Irwin\. The duties and responsibilities of the Heavy Equipment Operator\. Primarily responsible for safe and efficient train movements\. Locomotive Engineer directs the Brakeman Switchmen in planning, and execution of rail movement operations\. Applies skills and knowledge in the operation of locomotive assets in a variety of train load functions, oversight of cargo preparation for upload, and procedures for download\. Must be familiar with track systems and characteristics of track grades\. Must be knowledgeable with track inspection procedures\. Must be knowledgeable with train operations in varying weather conditions\. Must be knowledgeable with operation of single and multipe locomotive functions\. Must be knowledgeable of federal rail regulations, locomotive maintenance processes, to include Army and government requirements for rail uploads and downloads\. Serves as secondary point of contact for rail planning and rail load execution processes\. **Minimum Requirements** + High School diploma or equivalent required\. + 1 – 3 years experience operating heavy equipment required\. + Must possess certified Locomotive Engineer License\. + Previous rail experience is a must\. **Preferred Qualifications** + 1 – 2 years prior Lead experience preferred\. **What We Offer** AECOM is a place where you can put your innovative thinking and business skills into high gear and work alongside other highly intelligent and motivated people\.
