Requisition Number: FS104699 Interest Category: Operations & Maintenance Interest Sub Category: Operations & Maintenance Job Title : Maintenance Technical Specialist Employment Category/Status: full-time Type of Position: Regular Hire Country: U.S. State: Kentucky City: Richmond Minimum Requirements: POSITION REQUIREMENTS Basic Qualifications: • Bachelor degree in engineering or related field and 12 years’ experience as professional welder with emphasis on the requirements governed by American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) B31.1 and (ASME) B31.3 and general requirements governed by American Welding Society (AWS) codes Or • Associate degree in engineering or related field and 16 years’ experience as professional welder with emphasis on the requirements governed by (ASME) B31.1 and (ASME) B31.3 and general requirements governed by (AWS) codes Or • High School diploma or equivalent and 20 years’ experience as professional welding experience with emphasis on the requirements governed by (ASME) B31.1 and (ASME) B31.3 and general requirements governed by AWS codes Minimum Qualifications: • Must be a United States or naturalized citizen able to obtain and maintain Blue Grass Chemical Agent-Destruction Pilot Plant (BGCAPP) site access • Must be commuter literate in common software applications and able to operator general office equipment • Must have a thorough understanding of equipment operation, equipment maintenance requirements and maintenance restrictions imposed by safety and environmental regulations Desired Qualifications: • Experience in standing up or maintaining an industrial welding program • Experience working in a toxic/hazardous material environment • Experience working on Government project. • Proficient in PowerPoint, Access, Visio or equivalent Job Description: AECOM is seeking a Weld Program Specialist for the Bluegrass Chemical Agent Destruction Pilot Plant project located in Richmond, KY POSITION DESCRIPTION Typical Responsibilities Include: • Perform all work safely and with the utmost concern for the safety of self and other employees. • Perform all work in compliance with environmental permits and regulations. • May be required to work overtime or varying hours to include shift work. • Be at work when scheduled and maintain a good attendance record. • Work in close proximity to and or in a chemical demilitarization facility. • Serves as backup to develop welding techniques, procedures and application of welding equipment to problems involving fabrication of metals, utilizing knowledge of production specifications, properties and characteristics of metals and metal alloys, and engineering principles. Conducts research and development investigations to develop and test new fabrication processes and procedures, and develop new or modify current welding methods, techniques, and procedures. • Prepares technical reports as a result of research and development and preventive maintenance investigations. • Serves as Competent Person for Maintenance activities such as Excavations, Scaffolding and other necessary needs of the Maintenance department. • Supports the Maintenance Department as needed with technical and necessary support. • Establish welding procedures to guide welding personnel relating to specifications, restrictions, material process, pre-and post-heating requirements which involve use of complex alloys, welding of critical joints, and complex post-heating requirements. • Evaluates new developments in welding field for possible applications to current welding problems. • Directs and coordinates technical personal in performing inspections to ensure worker’s compliance with established welding procedures, restrictions, and standards; in testing welds for conformance with national code requirements; or testing welding personnel for certification. • Involved in all phases of the welding plan, drawing up and approving contract documents. • Ensure all necessary equipment and supplies are available for the welding operation.
