Preferred Requirements
• Previous experience with advanced S&H theories, concepts and art; advanced knowledge of related disciplines.
• Prior experience with compiling, preparing and presenting S&H material to multiple management levels.
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
• Safety Trained Supervisor (STS) Certified

Summary
Provides expert technical assistance to company and field operations on moderate to high risk scopes of work to ensure compliance with applicable Federal, State, Local and/or company safety and health regulations. Develops efficient solutions to controversial problems applying a high degree of creativity and ingenuity in regular work assignments. Applies advanced principles gained through formal education and/or extensive work experience. Monitors, analyzes, and investigates workplace activities and potential hazards to support company initiatives within assigned area or facility(s) through review of work packages, assessments, walk downs, and/or observations. Functions as an expert responsible for multiple Safety & Health (S&H) facets within assigned facility. Responsible for identifying and mitigating hazardous conditions that effect workers, property, the environment, and the general public. Assist in mentoring less experienced safety and health professionals and guiding their efforts.
Responsibilities
• Incorporate advanced Safety and Health (S&H) practices and a variety of complex features into problem solving and programmatic planning where only general objectives are stated.
• Evaluate or delegate proposals and makes recommendations based on proposed projects/tasks. Typically assigned to high risk, critical in scope, work packages.
• Collaborate with design teams to identify safety and health specifications and design requirements.
• Educate and observe to ensure that personnel are performing work in compliance with governing work documents.
• Apply advanced theories and practices of S&H by anticipating, recognizing, evaluating, and controlling occupational hazards in the workplace through job scope reviews, walk downs, and general observations.
• Investigate accidents, injuries, and complaints concerning hazards of critical impact.
• Responsible for compiling and providing all documentation from investigation to support legal claims made against company.
• Conduct assessments and/or Manager Field Observations (MFOs) within assigned area.
• Represent and/or attend (as requested) safety and health meetings.
• Demonstrate expert knowledge and understating of all company and industry specific regulatory requirements/standards and official interpretations.
• Assist with company interpretations to industry regulations.
• Incorporate innovation through extensive experience to develop, implement and maintain safety and health programs, systems and procedures of assigned facility.
• Develop, design, and conduct comprehensive occupational hazard inspection and monitoring strategies. May be requested to develop and conduct employee training, ensuring high quality of the program.
• Prepare and review written programs, job hazard analyses, personal protective equipment assessments and other health and safety program elements. Help develop and/or review health and safety procedures as requested. In addition, may be requested to develop and conduct employee training and perform effectiveness reviews.
• Promote compliance with required Experience Modification Rate (EMR), Total Recordable Case (TRC) and Days Away Restricted or Transferred (DART) established goals. Serve as an expert resource for line management to develop and administer a proactive prevention program for accidents and illness per company requirements.
• Serve as Subject Matter Expert for S&H activities within a particular facility.
• Generate/gathers trending and other performance indicator reports. Present to Project Directors and company Senior Management. May be asked to compile similar reports for customers and internal stakeholders as requested.
• Review, enters, reports, and/or resolves Site Tracking, Analysis & Reporting (STAR) items regarding Safety and Health discipline and ensures safety controls have been put in place.
• Demonstrate knowledge of industry’s innovative developments, processes, and techniques through successful implementation.
