**Job Summary** The Energy Division of AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Energy Consultant/Program Manager for immediate employment in the Chicago, IL office\. This position is for an experienced energy demand\-side management professional with responsibilities to develop the scope and manage the execution of energy efficiency based projects and programs for corporate, public, and institutional clients\. Strategic services help clients optimize consumption while reducing expense, develop innovative strategic and tactical plans, or address emerging energy and sustainability issues\.
AECOM has strong relationships with several key municipalities, agencies, and utilities that are requesting our assistance with long term energy planning and program development\.
Regional expert providing technical leadership and guidance to clients and staff on energy efficiency, demand management, and distributed generation programs and projects\. Keeps informed of new developments and requirements in the industry affecting clients and AECOM for the purpose of recommending changes in programs and applications\. Uses creativity, foresight and mature judgment in anticipating and solving technical, financial, and regulatory problems\. Interprets, organizes, coordinates, and executes assignments\. Makes decisions independently on technical problems and methods and works with clients and internal teams to resolve important questions and to plan and coordinate work\. Develops standards and guidelines for use throughout the energy consulting business\.
Typical projects include Enterprise Energy Management, energy resource evaluation, carbon mitigation strategy, KPI identification and validation, certification program development, assessment of the future of energy and sustainability trends, and technical training and writing\.
Roles and responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
+ Manage and supervise energy efficiency projects, ASHRAE Level I, II, and III energy audits for commercial, industrial, and residential facilities, and conducting comprehensive data monitoring studies for developing energy use distribution metrics
+ Lead and conduct large building retro\-commissioning studies and monitoring based commissioning projects, utility bill and rate structure analyses, and energy efficiency analyses on HVAC and lighting systems, electric motors, and compressed air systems
+ Consult on energy commodity procurement, utility rate analyses, energy data management assignments and Energy Star and LEED for Existing Building certification project
The knowledge and expertise required for this level of work usually results from progressive experience\. Supervision received is essentially administrative, with assignments given in terms of broad general objectives and limits\. Position will require travel, estimated to be 25\-50% depending on project location and phase\. Office location is Chicago, IL or New York, NY\. Telework may be authorized on a limited basis\.
**Minimum Requirements**
+ Bachelors degree in Engineering or equivalent in related field
+ Minimum 10\+ years of experience
+ Critical skills include leadership, client management, problem solving, communication, teamwork \(especially with geographic dispersion\)
+ Ability to deliver high quality and creative solutions in a fast\-paced and ever\-evolving industry
+ Deep technical understanding of energy supply and demand issues that affect clients, with ability of managing multi\-discipline technical teams to deliver solutions
+ Energy Manager Certification \(CEM\) required
+ Member of professional or technical Society
+ Mastery of Microsoft Office tools including Excel, PowerPoint, and Project
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ A passion in the areas of energy efficiency, alternative energy, and/or sustainability
+ Design build project experience
+ Utility incentive program experience
+ Technical involvement in an ESPC
+ Project Management Professional certification
+ Familiarity with Quality Management Systems based on ISO 9001
+ Advanced degree
+ License and/or registration of professional engineer
