**Job Summary** We are currently recruiting for an experienced Project Accountant to join our well\-established and experienced finance team in our centrally located Bristol office\.
As a Project Accountant you will be responsible for the financial administration of projects across all business lines and project delivery teams, acting as the Finance representative on the project team\. Your main responsibilities will include:
• Ensure that the operations teams are appropriately supported over the complete life cycle of projects, including the bid preparation phase\.
• May directly supervise other Project Accountants in your area\.
• Interface regularly with Project Manager \(PM\) and project delivery team\.
• Assist Project Manager with project setup and closeout; Monitor projects for contract compliance\.
• Ensure all incurred cost is reflected accurately and in a timely fashion on the project\.
• Monitor project performance and key indicators: support PM as required in understanding project performance\.
• Ensure that the financial impacts of change orders are reflected correctly in APIC\.
• Monitor & analyse revenue to ensure proper revenue recognition methods used; be able to explain key project metrics and lead indicators\.
• Assist PM with the preparation and update of the EAC for active projects; ensure that the current budget reflects original as\-sold contract plus all client approved changes\.
• Participate in project review preparation, execution, and follow up as agreed with RPAM\.
• Drive month end close activities to ensure that these activities are concluded in accordance with the published timetable, and that reported revenues are accurate\.
• Assist in the preparation of project risk analyses and RARs\.
• Work proactively over the month to clear project financial issues in APIC; such as % complete >100%, BIEE adjustments, cash >contract value and others as outlined by PAM\.
• Support project management team in Oracle and APIC system understanding\.
• Follow up on month end revenue adjustments to ensure that they are processed in APIC in a timely fashion\.
• Prepare and monitor project cash flow on complex/risk based projects as required\.
• Perform project analysis and prepare reports upon request for management review\.
• Understand the commercial and billing requirements of the projects; ensure project set up accurately reflects proper billing requirements\.
• Support project pursuit teams in bid preparation as required\.
• Support project teams in financial analysis for AECOM approvals\.
• Internal and external audit support, when required\.
• Invoice selected projects as agreed with PAM/Billing team\.
• Special projects and other duties as assigned\.
**Minimum Requirements** • Experience in a management accounting role \(ideally project accounting\)\.
• Excellent communication skills, as the role involves significant interaction with Operational staff\.
• Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel\.
• Able to work both proactively and independently\.
**Preferred Qualifications** • Ideally degree educated or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or similar\.
• Ideally AAT/ACCA/CIMA qualified or equivalent\.
