Minimum Requirements: Minimum Requirements:
1. Must be a US Citizen.
2. Must have a valid driver’s license.
3. High School diploma or demonstrated equivalent.
4. Five years of experience as an HVAC maintenance technician, including 2 - 4 years in the operations and maintenance in a complex research, commercial or industrial work environment.
5. EPA approved CFC certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Knowledge of chiller operations (centrifugal).
2. Knowledge of Raised Floor AC systems.
3. Working knowledge of energy management systems.
4. Experience with Siemens Apogee or similar building automation system.
5. Maryland Building Engineers License.
6. US Government security clearance.
7. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
8. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
9. Excellent customer service skills with the expectation of high customer satisfaction.
10. Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles or dust; high voltage; toxic or caustic chemicals. Job Description: URS, an AECOM company, is seeking an HVAC Technician IV to work a rotating schedule in Gaithersburg, MD! This position generally works with 24/7 shift coverage and weekend rotation. Must be able to work weekends/holidays on a rotational basis and work overtime as needed.
This position is responsible for assisting the Lead HVAC Technician in responding and providing service and feedback to the customer on all hot and cold calls, while utilizing Automated Building Controls training. General Maintenance of equipment will also be required. This position may work with 24/7 shift coverage and weekend rotations.
Essential Functions
• Assist the Team in maintaining, operating and troubleshooting the heating, ventilating, air conditioning, heat exchangers, chillers, air handling units, and general maintenance issues such as plumbing and other general maintenance problems or needs.
• Performs Preventive Maintenance on HVAC control and operating systems as scheduled in the Facilities Center System, including required calibrations.
• Safely performs functions of the position including following proper safety guidelines, such as observing lock out / tag out systems and wearing PPE as necessary.
• Operates various measuring, diagnostic and testing instruments to help provide energy efficiency solutions.
• Operates a variety of equipment such as hand tools, laptop computers and diagnostic hardware to perform work.
• Understands company policies and enforces safety regulations.
• Recommend measures to improve maintenance methods and equipment performance.
• Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.
• Maintains a strict schedule in order to be successful in the assignment.
• Demonstrates flexiblility in the day-to-day activities and scheduling for the benefit of the customer.
• Other duties may be assigned.
