AECOM’s Global Support Services \(GSS\) organization resides within AECOM's Government business line and is comprised of three divisions — International Development, Operations and Mission Support, and Global Programs\. GSS has the international presence, personnel networks and procurement infrastructure to deliver support for any mission, anywhere\. We optimize the reliability, availability and sustainability of equipment, logistics systems and facilities for clients around the world\. GSS supports the U\.S\. Government, non\-U\.S\. **Job Summary** Conduct initial declassification reviews in support of the Department of Defense \(DoD\) Automatic Declassification Program\. The Junior Declassification Analyst will use their analytical skills to apply policy and procedures in making determinations on documents for declassification, exemption, exclusion or referral to other agencies\. Each candidate must have demonstrated strong analytical skills, reading comprehension, attention to detail, and organizational abilities\.
Main Duties:
Document Review:
• Analyze unclassified and classified documents to determine the appropriate action needed in accordance with section 3\.3 of Executive Order \(E\.O\.\) 13526\.
• Proper understanding of document markings and ultimately proper handling\.
• Working knowledge of exemption categories 1\-9 under section 3\.3 of E\.O\. 13526\.
• Ability to properly recognize actual and possible nuclear weapons and intelligence information in all types of documents\.
• Ability to correctly apply declassification guidance\.
• Able to research information and ask questions to make informed decisions\.
• Ability to apply proper records management techniques to ensure the integrity of reviewed material\. Other:
• Assist in any other role or function that supports the efforts of the project\.
• Ability to move boxes weighing between 15 to 25 pounds\.
• Periodic travel within the National Capital Region\.
**Minimum Requirements**
+ Final DoD Top Secret security clearance or the ability to obtain one\.
+ One of the following education and experience combinations:
- Completed Bachelor's Degree; or
- Anticipated completion of a Bachelor's Degree prior to employment; or
- Three years relevant work experience; or
- 11 years general work experience with some relevant duties and tasks
+ Successfully passing initial declassification training and the Department of Energy’s Historical Records Restricted Data Reviewers Course\.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Active and final DoD Top Secret security clearance; or
+ Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in History, Political Science, or International Affairs; or
+ Demonstrated interest in military and foreign policy affairs
