More information on AECOM and its services can be found at www\.aecom\.com\. **About the Business Line** **Environment** Our team of environment specialists offers clients expertise in air quality, impact analysis and permitting, environmental health and safety management consulting/due diligence, remediation consulting/engineering and construction/site restoration, specialty and emerging technologies, waste services and water and natural resources\. **Job Summary** The Environmental, Design and Consulting Services Group of AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented environmental engineer for immediate employment in the Crystal City \(Arlington, VA\) office\. AECOM is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects\. The position will support multiple projects within our environmental business line for federal and DOD clients\. This position will require the candidate to support efforts related to policy and technical guidance development; management support to technical projects \(e\.g\., project files, project reporting, meeting facilitation, and conference support\); development and implementation of data collection methods; development and quality control of project deliverables; and program planning and management activities\. The selected candidate must be enthusiastic and self\-disciplined in order to organize their time and work efficiently in a fast\-paced and exciting environment\. The position requires the employee to work in a team of experienced environmental scientists\. Incumbent responsibilities: • Develop and assist with management of EHS regulatory compliance programs for federal clients, including tasks associated with permits, audits, planning, reporting, and recordkeeping for multiple environmental media areas • Understand applicable EHS regulations as they relate to DOD activities and prepare and provide summary of relevant requirements for projects • Projects will include work in an office environment as well as field assignments at client sites • Assist Client and AECOM task leads perform technical tasks assigned for each program or project • May be required to attend meetings on client's behalf • Manage tasks associated with pre and post field activities such as preparations of work plans and health and safety plans \(HASPs\), obtaining permits, soliciting subcontractors, and contributing to report preparation • Coordinate work and seek input as appropriate from the Sr\. Project Manager and Senior Technical Resources to make certain that the work performed is safely and consistent with the project expectations • Participate in aspects of proposal preparation and scoping exercises, such as sourcing and seeking quotes from subcontractors/suppliers • May supervise and delegate various tasks to junior staff and/or subcontractors • Will be a self\-starter, anticipating and initiating field and reporting activities without prompting from the Sr\. Project Manager • Overall general support for environmental projects **Minimum Requirements** • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in environmental engineering, civil engineering, or related engineering field • 4\+ years of relevant experience with managing environmental compliance programs and permitting related to DOD clients • Must have a working understanding of USEPA Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act, pollution prevention, tank systems, and SPCC Plans • Working knowledge of environmental media sampling and analytical methods • Working knowledge of MS Office • Working knowledge of federal environmental regulations and applicability to Department of Defense operations • Must be knowledgeable of environmental compliance requirements and development and implementation of programs \(SPCC, NPDES, RCRA, EPCRA, Air, Hazardous Materials, Hazardous/Universal Waste, etc\.\) for DOD facilities • Must have strong quantitative skills • Must have strong organizational skills and be able to work on multiple projects concurrently • Must have an EIT certificate and be working toward a Professional Engineer \(PE\) License • Must demonstrate excellent oral communication and writing skills • Candidate will be required to present a technical writing sample prior to interview • Strong work ethic and professional demeanor • Must work independently with minimal supervision and complete multiple tasks under tight deadlines • Must be able to work both in a team environment and without supervision • Candidate must be willing and able to obtain and maintain a security clearance • Valid Driver’s License **Preferred Qualifications** None **What We Offer** AECOM is a place where you can put your innovative thinking and business skills into high gear and work alongside other highly intelligent and motivated people\.
