Requisition Number: FS104671 Interest Category: Operations & Maintenance Interest Sub Category: Operations & Maintenance Job Title : Aircraft Worker/ Avionics Employment Category/Status: full-time Type of Position: Regular Hire Country: U.S. State: Virginia City: Norfolk Minimum Requirements: URS Corporation is now hiring a qualified Aircraft Worker for E-2C Organizational Level Maintenance in support of U.S. Naval operations. Shift work and detachment to other locations within the United States is required. The aircraft worker will apply a general knowledge of avionics systems to perform maintenance and launch evolutions of the E-2C Hawkeye. These systems will include, but are not limited to the following: Radar, IFF, UHF/VHF/HF and satellite communication systems, aircraft navigation systems, mission computers, and user interface display I/O devices. Work experience of the E-2C Hawkeye aircraft is preferred. Work may be reviewed by supervisors or quality assurance for general compliance with accepted practices. This position will require other general aircraft duties such as servicing fuel, engine oil, and radar liquid cooling systems. It will include aircraft move and wash evolutions, and other general duties required for maintaining the work space, hangar bay, and flight line. High School graduate or equivalent with a minimum of two years of experience in organizational level flight line or U.S. Naval aircraft carrier flight deck experience is recommended. Must have completed military aviation maintenance training or maintenance technical school or possess an FAA issued A&P license. Knowledge and use of special tools/equipment required to perform assigned maintenance tasks is mandatory. Must possess the ability to read and interpret technical publications, maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and safety regulations. Work is performed primarily outdoors under all types of weather conditions with exposure to loud noise and exhaust fumes. Must have a valid Virginia Driver's license (Or North Carolina if NC resident) or obtain one within sixty days of moving to the state. Must be able to meet physical requirements associated with E-2C Hawkeye servicing, launch and maintenance evolutions. Must be able to pass a medical screening to be cleared for flight deck operations. Much of the day will involve standing, climbing, bending, carrying, and pushing. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Should be a self-motivator and work with minimum supervision and must be able to speak, read, write and understand English. May be required to pass and maintain a U.S. Government background security check.
