More information on AECOM and its services can be found at www\.aecom\.com\. **About the Business Line** **Environment** Our team of environment specialists offers clients expertise in air quality, impact analysis and permitting, environmental health and safety management consulting/due diligence, remediation consulting/engineering and construction/site restoration, specialty and emerging technologies, waste services and water and natural resources\. **Job Summary** AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Technical Writer for immediate employment for the Honolulu, HI office\. AECOM is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects\. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below: Formats, edits, and publishes technical reports, planning documents, and fact sheets for submission to city, state, and federal agencies and commercial clients Supports the quality control process by ensuring that documents adhere to client\-specific style requirements Formats reports by applying template styles to text and tables, captioning figures, tables, and appendixes, photographs and inserting cross\-references Verifies acronyms and references by ensuring acronyms are spelled out only on first occurrence and that they are correctly defined in the document’s acronym list Verifies that references are correctly cited in text and in the reference list Researches missing references using the Master Reference list or asking the authoring team to provide the document information Tech edits reports by: Ensuring each document complies with client\-specific style guidelines and templates Performs a copy edit \(i\.e\., corrects errors of format, grammar, syntax, spelling, and style\) Assesses and revises text for logical flow, clarity, conciseness, completeness, and consistency Checks figures for clarity, completeness, use of symbols and styles, and correspondence with text Checks tables for logic of structure, accuracy, completeness, and correspondence with text Checks that both internal and client comments have been incorporated or addressed Verifies that documents have the required sections based on guidance documents Develops presentations, posters, and other materials for meetings, conferences, presentations, etc Produces paper copies and CDs of deliverables by: Preparing a master paper copy \(used by the production team to make copies for the client\), making photocopies, folding 11×17 sheets, and binding reports, if necessary Compiles the electronic PDF file\. This includes inserting figures, 11×17 tables, and adding bookmarks\. Creating CDs and CD labels, if necessary\. Reviews masters, hard copies, CDs, and PDF files from other coworkers to ensure consistency to styles and standards Mentors other team members Replaces Technical Communications Manager when absent **Minimum Requirements** Associates Degree in English, Journalism, Technical Communications or related field 4\+ years' experience in technical editing/writing Strong editing skills with the ability to understand technical content, edit for organization and flow, and add value to the usability and quality of the documentation Strong MS Word/Excel skills Experience managing multiple time\-sensitive assignments simultaneously Must be able to meet deadlines, commitment to teamwork, attention to detail and follow\-through Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an interest in helping writers improve their writing skills Ability to adapt to change, and can work in a high\-pressure, deadline\-driven environment **Preferred Qualifications** Bachelor's Degree preferred Experience editing CERCLA documents preferred **What We Offer** AECOM is a place where you can put your innovative thinking and business skills into high gear and work alongside other highly intelligent and motivated people\.
