More information on AECOM and its services can be found at www\.aecom\.com\. **About the Business Line** **Environment** Our team of environment specialists offers clients expertise in air quality, impact analysis and permitting, environmental health and safety management consulting/due diligence, remediation consulting/engineering and construction/site restoration, specialty and emerging technologies, waste services and water and natural resources\. **Job Summary** AECOM Germantown is seeking an archaeological conservator for upcoming temporary work in our Gaithersburg, MD laboratory\. Work is expected to begin on or around July 6, 2015 and extend through at least the end of August 2015\. An archaeological conservator performs the conservation of archaeological materials with supervision from the lab director\. He or she keeps records and maintains the relevant documentation to track conservation progress\. He or she provides regulatory compliance support for Federal, state, municipal and/or commercial clients\. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: + Performs conservation of archaeological materials \(e\.g\., metals, ceramics, glass, fibers\) + Performs documentation of conservation such as completing conservation forms, artifact photography and drawings, and recording conservation data + Provides logistical support to lab director and Principal Investigators \(assembles and maintains equipment, organizes supplies and paperwork, etc\.\) + Complies with all AECOM safety standards to ensure a safe work environment for all + Works with technical field, lab and office staff, managers and administrative staff to ensure that projects meet AECOM quality standards **Minimum Requirements** + M\.A\. or M\.S\. in Conservation, Anthropology, Archaeology or related field + 4\+ years of demonstrated experience in the conservation of archaeological materials in a museum or laboratory setting + Knowledge and understanding of equipment and technology used to perform materials conservation and data recordation + Experience with the conservation of metallic items, specifically iron and copper alloys Physical demands and working conditions: + Ability to work with conservation\-related chemicals under OSHA guidelines **Preferred Qualifications** None **What We Offer** AECOM is a place where you can put your innovative thinking and business skills into high gear and work alongside other highly intelligent and motivated people\.
