More information on AECOM and its services can be found at www\.aecom\.com\. **About the Business Line** **Environment** Our team of environment specialists offers clients expertise in air quality, impact analysis and permitting, environmental health and safety management consulting/due diligence, remediation consulting/engineering and construction/site restoration, specialty and emerging technologies, waste services and water and natural resources\. **Job Summary** AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Sustainability Consultant for immediate employment for the Portland, OR office\. AECOM is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects\. The position will support a company Leader for Corporate Advisory & Sustainability Services and the Area Sustainability Practice and will deliver on current projects/workload, future pursuits and other internal and external business development opportunities\. This position will assist the Leader in various capacities within the company's broader sustainability practice\. The successful candidate will support the Corporate Advisory & Sustainability Services Leader and assist other AECOM project managers with project support and client deliverables in areas including, but not limited to: sustainability inventories and assessments, airport sustainability planning and program development, corporate sustainability services, LEED, Green Globes and other rating system consulting, sustainability reporting, policy development, performance indicator and metrics development, stakeholder engagement, and task and project management\. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below: + Work with other AECOM discipline groups \(e\.g\., information systems, engineering, planning\) to incorporate findings and ensure sustainability is adequately integrated into project delivery + Compile environmental, social, and economic data for public and private sector organizations + Organize data and information in spreadsheets, software and other means + Support Corporate Advisory & Sustainability Services Leader with business development activities \(e\.g\., client meetings, developing marketing materials\) + Support projects involving program development and reporting according to GRI + Support design, engineering, and construction teams on green building projects + Research sustainability topics, including client, industry, market, and regulatory drivers, market studies, as well as stakeholder concerns and incorporate findings into projects and client briefings + Research and review latest sustainability guidelines and guidance such as GRI, ISO, Ceres and industry specific guidance such as airport sustainability guidance + Manage project tasks and manage smaller projects, by eventually becoming a Certified Project Manager + Join the broader AECOM sustainability practice, network with colleagues, and engage other internal project opportunities + Occasional travel can be expected, but will likely not be regular or extensive **Minimum Requirements** + Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, or related field + 5\+ years' professional experience in sustainability consulting, management, green building consulting or other related experience in the consulting industry and/or private or public sector + Masters Degree in sustainability \(e\.g\. MBA or MS in sustainability management\) can substitute for up to 2 years of work experience + Working knowledge of the primary aspects of sustainability and will be extremely comfortable with its broad and complex nature + Will have worked on sustainability projects or can show verified experience developing/managing sustainability programs **Preferred Qualifications** + Can show verified experience developing/managing sustainability programs + Substantial working knowledge in three or more of the following areas: Global Reporting Initiative \(GRI\), sustainability management systems, corporate sustainability and associated drivers, sustainability program development, green building \(LEED\), sustainable supply chains, water and/or GHG/carbon footprint, and infrastructure sustainability \(e\.g\., airport sustainability, Envision\) + Will have discrete project experience in the areas of working knowledge listed above \(e\.g\., GRI experience involved development of an actual GRI report, LEED experience involved consulting on actual LEED project, GHG experience involved GHG quantification by established protocol such as The Climate Registry, or GHG Protocol\) + Experience in airport sustainability planning or airport sustainability management will be given specific consideration + Strong MS office skills, with emphasis on MS Word, Excel/spreadsheets \(data management and visualization\) and PowerPoint + Strong data / information management skills including ability to synthesize quantitative and qualitative data, organize and correlate findings, and incorporate into client deliverables + Exceptional people skills and business savvy + Is comfortable leading teams, taking on leadership roles and will invite opportunities to challenge him/herself + Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write in both technical language \(e\.g\., scientific reports\) and business/management language \(e\.g\., business brief\) and ability to speak to clients, elected leaders, executives, and larger groups + Ability to think and talk in terms of systems and the language of business + Will be adaptable and flexible, showing a willingness and ability to take on new project or areas with supervision, as required + Exhibits client awareness and focus and be expected to grow that skill at AECOM + Strong work ethic coupled with a high energy level and passion for sustainability work and AECOM’s business environment + Will be confident, self\-motivated and able to work unsupervised as well as in a multi\-disciplinary team environment + Will possess skills and attributes to balance various project and company responsibilities and deadlines, while maintaining professionalism and quality **What We Offer** AECOM is a place where you can put your innovative thinking and business skills into high gear and work alongside other highly intelligent and motivated people\.
