Requisition Number: FS104306 Interest Category: Operations & Maintenance Interest Sub Category: Operations & Maintenance Job Title : Maintenance Superintendent Employment Category/Status: full-time Type of Position: Regular Hire Country: U.S. State: Kentucky City: Richmond Minimum Requirements: POSITION REQUIREMENTS Basic Qualifications: • Bachelor degree technical field, 2 years supervisory experience, and 5 years of progressive responsibility in Industrial Maintenance Or • Associate degree technical field, 2 years supervisory experience, and 7 years of progressive responsibility in Industrial Maintenance Or • High school diploma/equivalent, 2 years supervisory experience, and 13 years of progressive responsibility in Industrial Maintenance Minimum Qualifications: • Must be a US or naturalized citizen able to obtain and maintain BGCAPP site access • Must be computer literate in common software applications and able to operate general office equipment • Knowledge of demilitarization, nuclear, chemical, or other heavy industry maintenance operation • Knowledge of scheduling and planning activities • Have excellent oral and written communication skills • Have thorough understanding of equipment operation, equipment maintenance requirements, and maintenance restrictions imposed by safety and environmental regulations • Knowledge of CMMS such as MAXIMO, or other industry standard planning software Desired Qualifications: • Experience working in chemical demilitarization, nuclear, chemical, or toxic/hazardous environment Job Description: Typical Responsibilities Include: • Perform all work safely and with the utmost concern for the safety of self and other employees. • Perform all work in compliance with environmental permits and regulations. • May be required to work overtime or varying hours to include shift work. • Be at work when scheduled and maintain a good attendance record. • Work in close proximity to and or in a chemical demilitarization facility. • Assess manpower requirements for scheduled maintenance activities and assign work orders to the maintenance supervisors. • Perform a variety of administrative and maintenance related functions. • Ensure that corrective and preventative maintenance on facility systems, equipment and components are completed in a timely manner that does not compromise the safety of the workers, the public or the environment. • Ensure that instrumentation and equipment supporting plant modifications are installed as per design. • Brief management daily concerning administrative issues and deadlines. • Assist management with tracking and documentation of performance appraisals, employee transfers, promotions and terminations. • Assist management with applicant interviews and new hire in-processing. • Assist management with planning, writing and editing department plans and other project documents. • Assist management in follow-up of projects, reports, and information required of the department. • Provide department with administrative support, including record keeping and generation/maintenance of forms. Prioritize administrative task based on current plant project activities and status. • Act as liaison with other departments on administrative issues. • Provide assistance to department personnel in communicating payroll, travel and human resources issues. • Ensure that the performance of emergency repairs to systems, equipment and components are complete in a timely manner. • Supervise/assist vendors in performing instrumentation/electrical or mechanical maintenance tasks that is beyond the department's capability. Provide technical support for this work. • Specify maintenance equipment needs to complete electrical/mechanical tasks. • Assist Engineering with modifications/revisions to plant systems, equipment and/or components. • Serve in absence of Assistant Maintenance Manager or Maintenance Manager when necessary. • Develop technical solutions and workarounds to address maintenance related problems while minimizing cost and subordinates so that safe and environmentally sound operations are not compromised. • Formulate operating rules, regulations, and procedures. • Inspect plant facilities or review inspection reports to determine repairs, replacement or improvements required. • Coordinate activities of personnel involved in repair and maintenance of facilities, buildings, and equipment to minimize interruption and improve efficiency. • Prepare related reports and audit current procedures to monitor efficiency of operations. • Evaluate proposals and bids for various design, contracting, and follow-on services as required. • Ensure employee conformance to established practices and proper training of staff. • Responsible for hiring, employee motivation, and counseling of employees supervised. • Review work of assigned personnel for compliance with policies and procedures, effectiveness of coordination, technical adequacy, safety, surety, and for attainment of objectives.
