Requisition Number: FS104220 Interest Category: Operations & Maintenance Interest Sub Category: Operations & Maintenance Job Title : Area Supervisor Employment Category/Status: full-time Type of Position: Regular Hire Country: U.S. State: Kentucky City: Richmond Minimum Requirements: Basic Qualifications: • High Scholl diploma/equivalent and 5 years’ supervisory experience in a power, chemical, petrochemical, petroleum or other related industry Minimum Qualifications: • Must be a U.S. or naturalized citizen able to obtain and maintain BGCAPP site access • Must be computer literate in common software applications and able to operate general office equipment • Considerable knowledge/experience of the operations field process and related activities and requirements • Incumbent must be able to demonstrate past supervisory/lead experience in a chemical, petrochemical, power plant or equivalent operation, and the ability to work with people of varied backgrounds and myriad objectives, reach consensus on complex issues in a timely manner, and manage others in performing complex, interrelated tasks in an efficient, effective and timely manner Desired Qualifications • Previous experience in chemical demilitarization Operations and Maintenance (O&M) supervisory position • Understanding of hazardous materials, furnaces, scrubber systems, management procedures, and techniques • Experience in work management/control • Experience in plant startup and testing Job Description: Typical Responsibilities Include: • Perform all work safely and with the utmost concern for the safety of self and other employees. • Perform all work in compliance with environmental permits and regulations. • May be required to work overtime or varying hours to include shift work. • Be at work when scheduled and maintain a good attendance record. • Work in close proximity to and or in a chemical demilitarization facility. • Support Plant Readiness Reviews, modification planning, and munitions changeover planning. • Coordinate the resolution of both technical and non-technical issues across organizational boundaries. • Provide general support on emergent issues to senior management. • Understand all applicable operational and regulatory requirements and ensure operations, deviations, and testing conforms to these requirements. • Analyze data and prepare reports for both technical and non-technical audiences on various subjects. • Act as plant interface on environmental, safety and quality assurance compliance issues in support of operations. • Provide operational technical support as required. Support training as subject matter expert. • Assist in investigating and developing reports on unusual plant occurrences. • Develop/maintain various procedures and plans as required by Operations Manager. • Conduct management observations and operational self-assessments. • Reinforce Conduct of Operations (CONOPS) and compliance culture in Operations Department. • Participate in casual analysis. • Provide Work Control support by initiating and planning work orders, attendance at T-minus schedule meetings, and attendance at forced and planned outage schedule meetings. • Serve as Outage Coordinator as needed. • Supervise Process Supervisor, Plant Operator and Ordnance Technicians. • Supervise Process Supervisor in performing applicable environmental inspections and waste handling operations. • Provide technical expertise and training for operations personnel. • Plan and schedule work assignment for day-to-day operations. • Responsible for ensuring qualified and certified personnel are available to meet Process Requirements for Operations (PRO) and maintain operations. • Serve as certification official for operator certifications. • Ensure adequate munitions and other materials are available to support operations. • Monitor heat stress requirements, stay times and evaluate effect of heat on workers. • Ensure proper safety procedures are understood and complied with. • Prepare confined space, open process, hot work and toxic area permits to facilitate safe conditions for plant activities. • Review and analyze data regarding operation of plant equipment and recommend corrective action. • Recommend promotion or reassignment of personnel, make formal appraisals of operator's performance and determine if additional training is required. • Initiate and justify operator personnel actions, recommend salary adjustments and make recommendations regarding leave requests. • Review resumes and make recommendations to applicant selections. • Make periodic/routine tours through operating areas to ensure safe and efficient operations. • Responsible for housekeeping in all operating areas. • Support the LOTO Coordinator in the day-to-day execution of LOTO program. • Verify equipment can be worked on, retest required, authorize the performance of work, verify that necessary permits are in place, and notify Work Week Manager of the change to plant status and schedule variance. • Perform shift work sign-on to allow work within a job package during the Area Supervisor's shift. • Responsible for maintaining plant configuration to support established Limiting Conditions for Operation (LCO) mode. • Participate in the Management Observation Program on a routine basis. • Identify and document issues, utilizing the Condition Reporting system and promote usage of Condition Reporting system with Operations personnel to close out items assigned to them. • May serve as the On-Scene Commander for Emergency Response Teams.
