**Job Summary** The Design and Consulting Services Division of AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Substation Design Engineers for immediate employment in the Fort Washington, PA office\. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career in Supporting Electrical Engineering Design specific to Transmission and Substation\. Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:
+ As part of the AECOM group of companies, AECOM T & D designs, develops, and delivers engineering, including system planning and studies, procurement, and construction solutions for high voltage power transmission line and substation projects in North America and abroad
+ AECOM T & D has exciting full time career opportunities for Junior, Intermediate, and Senior experienced Substation Design Engineers\. Our Substation Design Engineers are responsible for the delivery of high voltage electrical substation designs for our transmission line projects
+ The Substation Design Engineer is required to work within a multi\-discipline team to design efficient and reliable electrical substations\. The engineer will coordinate his/her design activities to maintain project schedules and ensure successful project completion\. The engineer will also assist the Estimating Team in preparation of estimates and project proposals
+ This position is accountable to provide all design activities in accordance with all applicable codes and standards, including all of AECOM’s policies and procedures, such as Safety, Environmental, Quality Assurance and Quality Control
Additional accountabilities for the Substation Design Engineer include:
+ Preparation of project specifications for material and equipment purchase and installation
+ Design of electrical substation facilities including site and buswork layouts, ground grids, controls, protection, and metering
+ Delivery of accurate and thorough designs that will meet industry standards and specifications, and meet good engineering practice with excellent constructability
+ Review of internal and external designs for code compliance, good design practice and constructability
+ Resolving site queries, attending site meetings and performing site inspections during the construction phase of projects
+ Maintaining complete project documentation with respect to substation design and construction, including all completion packages, as\-built requirements and return data information
+ Making and maintaining appropriate commitments to project teams and coordinating design activities with multi\-disciplined project team members
+ Maintaining good working relationships with internal groups that support projects
+ Maintaining good working relationships with material suppliers, contractors, and any others that affect the quality, schedule and cost of projects
+ Mentoring and providing guidance to developing engineers within the department
**Minimum Requirements**
+ Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Civil Engineering or related field from a recognized institution
+ Minimum 2\+ years of experience in transmission line design and a working knowledge of PLSCadd
+ PE License \- Pennsylvania
+ Awareness of North America codes and standards such as IEEE and ANSI and including OH&S Regulations
+ Requires a high level of interpersonal communication skills, as well as demonstrated design experience
+ Occasional travel to remote locations is required
