Requisition Number: IE103565 Interest Category: Operations & Maintenance Interest Sub Category: Operations & Maintenance Job Title : Facilities Assistant Employment Category/Status: full-time Type of Position: Regular Hire Country: U.S. State: Georgia City: Atlanta Minimum Requirements: • High School diploma • Minimum 2 years of facility maintenance experience • Experience with basic hand tools and grounds maintenance • Must have good attention to detail and good work ethic • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point) • Multi-tasking and adaptation are key elements to success • Ability to efficiently handle a changing environment and be capable of dealing with multiple people and various situations simultaneously and prioritize tasks • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Possess strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills • Think creatively and exhibit strong troubleshooting skills • Ability to understand and carry out general instructions in standard situations • Ability to solve problems in a standard situation • Comfortable working in an unstructured, fast paced environment • Ability to learn proper operations of warehouse equipment such as operating a small forklift • Must be comfortable with small tool usage, including operation of a variety of hand, power and shop tools and building maintenance such as power drills, saws, etc. • Valid driver license • Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test Physical demands: • While performing the duties of this job the employee will be required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, reach with hands and arms • May be required to stoop, kneel, or crouch as it relates to product handling and distribution, and must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds • Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and can be exposed to extreme heat and extreme cold including climates consistent with outside weather conditions Job Description: The Facility Assistant will be assisting the Facility Manager with the delivery of quality facility management services. They will provide facilities maintenance, security monitoring, badge and building access, daily office operations, vendor management, invoice processing and mail room operations. Additionally, assist in managing all outside contractors in support of the facilities team, including maintaining records and contracts, coordinating project activities, and providing scheduling support. Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: • Assists in all aspects of facilities maintenance in the City Hall location and assist in other locations as needed • Assists with office moves as directed • Assists with the shipping and receiving of packages • During events, sets up tables, chairs, and cleans up during and after • Performs a variety of maintenance duties involved in the repair and maintenance of facilities involving carpentry, remodeling, painting, plumbing, electrical, etc. such as: routine electrical work; installation and replacement of light fixtures, ballasts and fluorescent lighting; checking of breakers, plugs, switches, fixtures and wires for appropriate operations • Installation and/or small repairs and maintenance of plumbing fixtures and equipment • Performs framing, rough and finish carpentry (occasionally), hangs, repairs, and replaces doors and associated mechanisms including hinges, locks and dead bolts • Paints interior walls, equipment and furniture, with surface preparation and application of paints appropriate to different internal surfaces • Reads and interprets blueprints, drawings, specifications and manuals; calculates, designs, and prepares for work to be performed; estimates materials and lays out work • Assists in the preventative maintenance responsibilities for the facility • Assists in Building Security from access control to video monitoring AECOM is a premier, fully integrated professional and technical services firm positioned to design, build, finance and operate infrastructure assets around the world for public- and private-sector clients.
