We embed sustainability principles in every design\. **Job Summary** AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Electrical Engineering Designer for immediate employment for the San Diego, CA office\. The appropriately qualified candidate will provide support to the San Diego office working on Federal, DoD, Navy and other projects involving facilities and master planning, feasibility studies, site facility design, Basic Facility Requirements, Asset Evaluations and preparation of military planning documents\. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below: + Design of both electrical power distribution and instrumentation/control systems for municipal and industrial facilities working under the direct supervision of a lead Electrical Engineer + Design lighting, grounding and power systems up to 5KV + Perform both manual and computer aided electrical system calculations + Prepare final working drawings and specifications + Implement and follow Company Quality Management System Procedures + Receives supervision on all aspects of assignments + Gathers and correlates basic electrical engineering data associated with assigned projects using established and well\-defined procedures **Minimum Requirements** + Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field + 0\-2 years' experience + Grammatical skills consistent with a four year college degree in the language of the typical client and coworker + Proficient with spreadsheet, word processing, and standard office software + Basic knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position including computer aided drafting/design \(e\.g\., AutoCad, Revit, or Microstation, Lighting design simulation \(Visual\), Load flow simulation, Power pole simulation or Grounding simulation, ETAP, SKM + Basic understanding of electrical power systems and lighting + Familiarity with the National Electric Code + Familiarity with Unified Facility Criteria for facilities planning + Effective written and verbal communication skills a must + Limited travel as required to meet training and project requirements **Preferred Qualifications** + Registered Engineer in Training \(EIT\) and ability to obtain Professional Engineer \(PE\) registration in the next 4 years preferred **What We Offer** AECOM is a place where you can put your innovative thinking and business skills into high gear and work alongside other highly intelligent and motivated people\.
