**Job Summary** This position is for the MTA Capital Construction Company \(MTACC\) which oversees the construction of several large multi\-billion dollar capital improvements for the MTA including the Second Avenue Subway, Fulton Street Transportation Center, and LIRR East Side Access program\.
This position will be assigned and accountable to the MTACC Chief Capital Security Program\. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
+ Compliance with the MTA’s security protocols with respect to Security Sensitive Information \(SSI\)
+ In\-depth coordination with other MTA Agencies \(MTAPD, MTAHQ, NYCT, LIRR AND MNR\) and other outside agencies, contractors and utility companies
+ Review, analyze technical submittals, communications and specifications for a variety of fiber/network communications systems
+ Inspect field installation and/or testing of various communications equipment and systems installed under contract to ensure quality, compliance and adherence to MTA standards and specifications
+ Review and provide technical and cost effective recommendations as issues and problems arise in projects
+ Present information and respond to queries
+ Other duties as assigned to meet critical program objectives and milestones
**Minimum Requirements**
+ Bachelor's degree or ASS Electrical/Electronic Technology or equivalent commensurate practical experience of at least 5 years of full time in data communications, networking, or in a pertinent scientific, technical electronic or related data technical environment
+ 5\+ years of full time practical and technical professional experience
+ MS Office \(Word, Excel, Outlook\), and experience in other computer applications and programs related to the duties of this position
+ Excellent Written/Verbal communications/team work and interpersonal skills required
+ In\-depth knowledge of communications engineering technologies including at least one specific area of network technology such as fiber optic backbone design or SONET, ATM, TCP/IP, MPLS, SDN or COE
+ Knowledge of effective project management techniques: planning, organizational, analytical, troubleshooting and problem solving
+ Ability to prepare comprehensive reports including findings, recommendations and maintain records
+ Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre\-employment substance abuse test
