**Job Summary**
Aecom is currently recruiting for an experienced railway survey assistant to join our Glasgow office due to the continued expansion of the Geomatics team\.
This is a great opportunity to build your career with one of the industry’s largest and most diverse providers of fully integrated engineering, construction, and technical services\. As an Assistant Surveyor we’ll support your development and training to assist in field survey work, carry out survey calculations and produce digital survey data\.
As an Assistant Surveyor your day to day will include:
•Assist in survey fieldwork and become proficient in the operation of survey instruments
•Responsible for the production of digital survey data using existing software packages
•Learn and carry out survey calculations as they apply to survey work
•Work from our Glasgow office as well as spending short periods at other locations across the UK
•Interacting with other members of the Geomatics team, demonstrating strong communication skills
**Minimum Requirements** You will be able to demonstrate:
• Previous railway survey experience
• Current PTS qualification required
• A working knowledge of modern survey instruments and data processing software
• A recognised land survey qualification would be advantageous
• Demonstrable commitment to Health and Safety\.
• Full UK driving licence
**Preferred Qualifications** A recognised land survey qualification would be advantageous
