More information on AECOM and its services can be found at www\.aecom\.com\. **About the Business Line** **Water** We create comprehensive delivery solutions for water, wastewater and wet weather systems, desalination, water resources, water reuse, tunneling, and community infrastructure through traditional and alternative delivery services such as program management and design\-build\. **Job Summary** The Water Business Unit is actively seeking a creative, highly talented **Principal Water Resources Engineer** for immediate employment in the Albuquerque, NM office\. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career in Water Resources specific to the New Mexico industry and clients\. Projects involve public and private clients in New Mexico and the Southwest Area\. This position involves leadership of the New Mexico Water Team\. Responsibilities will include management of staff, direct communication with clients, project management, \(including technical and financial management\), and leadership of water business development in New Mexico\. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: Project Management + Manages projects of various sizes and coordinate with clients to achieve successful completion + Manages project finances to meet client and office expectations + Mentors and leads staff to perform and complete technical aspects of projects + Plans, coordinates, develops, and monitors projects to completion Business Development + Contributes to the growth of the Water Resource practice in New Mexico + Strategizes and prepares proposals for upcoming Water Resource pursuits in NM + Initiates and maintains contacts with key subject matter experts and managers within the New Mexico Water Resources industry + Participates in business development activities, including planning, scheduling, client relations, marketing, proposal preparation, and presentations Technical + Provides Water Resources technical expertise and leadership in the Albuquerque office + Provides expertise and leadership on projects involving surface water planning, modeling, and design + Directs and performs surface water modeling using HEC\-1, HEC\-RAS, HEC\-HMS and FLO\-2D programs + Communicates regularly with senior staff and mentors junior and mid\-level professional staff + Works with multiple teams in various offices, to pursue, manage and deliver projects + Establishes, promotes, and ensures quality on all projects and work performance **Minimum Requirements** + Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field + Certified Professional Engineer in New Mexico + 10\+ years of industry experience, including at least five years of recent experience in New Mexico + Project Management, Business Development, and Marketing experience with Albuquerque and New Mexico municipalities + Must demonstrate experience mentoring and direction of junior staff + Exhibits in\-depth knowledge of surface water modeling, planning and design projects and related technologies + Ability to communicate the technical aspects of projects to a wide audience + Experience in budget management and tracking + Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills + Hydrologic and Hydraulic Modeling Software \(HEC\-1, HEC\-HMS, HEC\-RAS\), AutoCAD and Civil3D **Preferred Qualifications** + Local Candidates Preferred **What We Offer** AECOM is a place where you can put your innovative thinking and business skills into high gear and work alongside other highly intelligent and motivated people\.
