Five years of experience as a mechanical maintenance technician troubleshooting and repairing components in an industrial setting, or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred Qualifications: 1. EPA Universal CFC certificate. 2. Experience in facilities operations and maintenance in a commercial or industrial work environment. 3. Advanced ability to read and understand repair manuals, specifications, drawings, and schematic diagrams. 4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 5. Self-motivated with excellent time management skills. 6. Committed to maintaining a safe work environment. Additional Information: • Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test. • This position may require a valid Driver’s License. • This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization. • This position will require the ability to obtain a security access badge at our client’s location. • This position may require various shifts, weekends, and alternative work schedules. Physical Requirements: • Have the ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs. • Have the ability to regularly climb extension ladders, roof ladder, stepladders, and stairs at least 10 times during shift. • Have the flexibility to bend/stoop, squat repetitive during shift. • Have the ability to regularly kneel repetitive for shift. • Have the ability to move in a 90-degree fashion on a repetitive basis for shift. • Have the ability to stretch/reach on a repetitive basis for shift. • Have the ability to walk extensively throughout the plant for shift. Have the ability to interact with all clients in a professional and friendly manner despite periods of stress. Job Description: URS, an AECOM company, is seeking a HVAC / Mechanical Facility Maintenance Technician in Columbus, GA! Typical work schedule is 7:00am – 3:30pm; hours may vary based on business demand. This position is responsible for providing an advanced level of expertise in responding to work orders, troubleshooting, and performing preventive maintenance on the industrial or commercial HVAC Refrigeration, Mechanical and Electrical Equipment. Essential Functions: • Under general supervision, performs tasks that reflect substantial variety and complexity. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. • Operates, maintains, diagnoses, troubleshoots and repairs heating, refrigeration an’d ventilation equipment, pumps, fans, boilers, chillers, dryers, compressors, refrigeration and other mechanical equipment as necessary. • Utilizes strong mechanical and electrical skills in order to complete assignments. • Performs preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance (planned and unplanned work) that is managed in MAXIMO CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System). • Responds and provides service and feedback to the customer on all work orders while assuring compliance to codes, regulations and industry standards. • Safely performs functions of the position including following proper safety guidelines such as job hazard analysis, lockout/tagout, and wearing respirators and other PPE as required. • Recommends measures to improve maintenance methods and equipment performance. • Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists coworkers in solving work problems. • Safely performs functions of the position including following proper safety guidelines such as job hazard analysis, lockout/tagout, and wearing PPE as required. • Assists other technicians with assignments as needed and provides appropriate instruction and coaching • Commits to maintaining a safe work environment. • Performs other duties as assigned by Manager or Supervisor.
