Experience:
•Eight (8) to twelve (12) years’ experience in chemical engineering
•Flow sheet and/or process modeling experience
•Experience with project management preferred
•Experience with Earned Value Management System (EVMS) principles preferred
•Experience with establishing and managing subcontracts preferred
•Professional Engineer License preferred
Skills:

Job Description: URS is seeking a Processing Modeling Group Lead for our Richland, WA location.
The Plant Engineering organization is responsible for providing a centralized, consistent, tailored approach to engineering across all facilities and establishes strategic goals and objectives to meet the Hanford Tank Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant (WTP) Project mission. The organization includes the following groups: Cognizant Systems Engineering, Process Chemistry, Process Modeling, Programs, Process Controls, Fire Protection, and Environmental.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES/TASKS
The Process Modeling Group Lead is responsible for:
•Providing oversight and technical direction to the Process Modeling group in accordance with the Plant Engineering's policies, procedures, and other established protocols
•Establishing a culture within the group that embraces the principles of the Nuclear Safety and Quality Culture (NSQC)
•Ensuring the group’s resources have met and maintain required training and qualifications in order to perform work
•Providing consistent, flow sheet modeling and analysis approach for evaluating the WTP and the impacts of the WTP on the ORP Waste Treatment duration
•Establishing objectives and work scope through Partnering with DOE ORP Engineering Representatives for the following Contract Deliverables:
2.5 - Operations Research Assessment
2.6- WTP Tank Utilization Assessment
•Advising WTP senior engineering leadership and DOW on the baseline flow sheet model and impacts of proposed changes (design or operation)
•Ensuring the Operation Research (OR) and Dynamic (G2) models are maintained up-to-date with the current design, R&T findings, and safety analysis, as well as in accordance with software requirements and procedures
•Promote effective communications and “partnering” among various internal and external organizations
•Providing resources to support other project initiatives as needed
