**Job Summary**
AECOM Middle East is currently involved in the PM/CM proposal of the Hamad International Airport Expansion project in Qatar and is inviting expressions of interest from experienced aviation professionals\. The project is key in Qatar’s national development strategy and will fulfill three critical roles: Qatar Gateway to the world, hub for the Qatar Airways and other airlines, and Cargo and Aircraft Maintenance Centre\.
Duties & Responsibilities:
+ Ability to perform fire protection reviews \(shop drawings\) to determine compliance with applicable NFPA, IBC and FM standards;
+ Track record providing technical guidance in the development of fire protection strategies and alternative protection strategies to meet code equivalence;
+ Aware of appropriate legislation and design guidance for use in the Middle East;
+ Managing others in developing and implementation of fire protection strategies, projects, and research initiatives;
+ Excellent report writing and communication skills, be collaborative, be creative and engaging;
+ Understanding and managing the scope and relevant programme constraints of projects;
+ Previous on\-site experience in relation to testing, commissioning and handover of fire protection systems on large projects\.
**Minimum Requirements**
+ BSc in Fire Protection Engineering, mechanical engineering or equivalent
+ Experience in large international airport projects preferred
+ Experience in design and inspection of:Automatic sprinkler, standpipe and fire pump systems;
Clean agent suppression systems;
Fire alarm systems and hydraulic calculations;
Fire protection system start\-up and testing observation; and
Existing systems survey and testing\.
**Preferred Qualifications** Chartered Engineer or approaching achieving Chartered Engineer status;
Knowledge of UAE Fire and Safety Code, NFPA codes, IBC, FM and UL; and
Project experience in the Middle East\.
