**About the Business Line** **Water**
We create comprehensive delivery solutions for water, wastewater and wet weather systems, desalination, water resources, water reuse, tunneling, and community infrastructure through traditional and alternative delivery services such as program management and design\-build\.
**Job Summary** The Construction Inspector will be exposed to multiple facets of the dredging project\(s\) with responsibilities for daily reporting, quality control, and safety\. The Construction Inspector is part of a greater team whose goals are to safely and efficiently assist in managing the project and will report directly to the Construction Manager, in performance of surveillance and/or inspection activities related to dredging necessary for achieving the desire levels of quality in accordance with construction and contract specifications\.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
+ Maintain familiarity with all project dredging activities
+ Inspect and monitor the daily activities of dredging vessel\(s\)
+ Assist in ensuring dredging is carried out in accordance with approved standards, contract documents, and permits
+ Regularly observe disposal operations at placement areas to ensure required practices are followed
+ Assess performance and efficiency of the Contractor, especially during execution of day works, and report findings to Construction Manager
+ Maintain a detailed daily log and submit daily reports
**Minimum Requirements**
+ High School Diploma or equivalent
+ Texas Issued Driver’s License
+ Computer skills using Microsoft Office \(Outlook, Excel, Word etc\)
+ 5 to 7 years of construction inspection in a coastal/marine environment including the inspection and coordination of dredging operations and spoil placement
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ 7 to 10 years of inspection and contractor coordination in the creation of beneficial use sites and artificial wetland creations in a coastal/marine environment
+ Continuing studies and/or classes in storm water quality and storm water pollution prevention measures
