Our team of environment specialists offers clients expertise in air quality, impact analysis and permitting, environmental health and safety management consulting/due diligence, remediation consulting/engineering and construction/site restoration, specialty and emerging technologies, waste services and water and natural resources\.
**Job Summary** AECOM is seeking a positive, highly talented archaeologist/cultural resources manager for part\-time employment in the Oakland office\. AECOM is a leading provider of engineering, construction, and technical services for public agencies and private sector companies around the world\. The company offers a broad range of planning, engineering and architectural design, environmental, construction, program and construction management, systems integration, operations and maintenance, management and a wide range of specialized technical services for the U\.S\. federal government, state and local government agencies, and private companies throughout the world\.
The successful candidate will perform construction monitoring, surveys, analysis, document preparation, and literature research\. They will assist with an immediate need for cultural resources task management and report writing for a number of key clients, but will be available to assist with a wide variety of other projects needs over time \(e\.g\., monitoring, survey, etc\.\)\.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below:
+ Contribute cultural resource sections to EIR/EIS and other environmental documents
+ Prepare technical reports and consult with agencies \(e\.g\. SHPO, Caltrans, FEMA, etc\.\) on the findings
+ Prepare proposals independently for small and moderate scope projects and assists with proposals to provide services or obtain funding for mid\-level and above projects or programs
+ Gather data and other information to be used in the preparation of scientific reports\.
+ Conduct and oversee field work\.
+ Review analytical data for general indicators of quality for routine analyses based on well\-defined guidelines
+ Successfully collaborate with other AECOM employees
+ May require travelling and staying out of town on occasions
**Minimum Requirements**
+ Bachelor's Degree required in Archaeology or Cultural Resources Management or related field
+ 8\+ years' relevant work experience
+ Registered Professional Archaeologist
+ Ability to carry out all aspects of archaeological work, from initial study and background research, to field investigations, lab analysis, and document preparation
+ Demonstrated knowledge of CEQA, NEPA, and Section 106 permitting environments; and the ability to create appropriate and defensible documents within those environments
+ Experience managing junior staff and coordinating the successful completion of cultural resources tasks
+ Ability to work independently
+ Strong communication skills
+ Ability to work with a variety of field teams and clients
+ Strong writing skills
+ Ability to generate well\-written, technically sound reports requiring little report core modification \(structure, general content\) from senior technical personnel
+ Broadened knowledge of other fields outside of archaeology/ anthropology, in order to oversee more general environmental compliance and permitting tasks
+ Makes decisions independently on scientific problems and methods to resolve important questions and to plan and coordinate work
+ Ability to perform tasks with minimal direction of a senior project professional
+ Ability to interact with clients to expand work assignments or market new work
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Master's Degree preferred
+ 40 Hour HAZWOPER certification preferred
