**Job Summary** We are seeking a talented Construction Cost Estimator / Scheduler for our Tampa office\. The ideal candidate will display the experience, confidence, and desire to work on a wide variety of interesting and vertical construction and heavy civil projects including Aviation, Transportation, DoD, Utilities, and Port/Marine facilities\. We support projects throughout Florida, nationally across the US, and overseas from early conceptual stage all the way through final bid documents, as well as negotiating change orders and claims\. Provides quantity take\-off's and construction cost estimates for a wide variety of projects \- Provides construction schedules for a wide variety of projects
Will work with a team of estimators / scheduler's on larger projects, either performing take\-off's or by completing portions of the cost estimates or schedules
Provide group support in researching wage / equipment rates, construction materials, means, and methods \- Provide group support in maintaining cost and schedule data and references
Work independently with project managers and designers to develop project scopes and report on costs and schedules Work with supervision to complete task on larger projects
Review contractors baseline and monthly progress schedules
Prepare construction schedules for marketing and proposal efforts
May perform or assist in other cost engineering tasks such as value engineering, life cycle cost analysis, or alternative studies
**Minimum Requirements**
+ Bachelors degree in construction management, engineering or related field
+ Minimum 5 years experience, including some project site experience working for contractors
+ Ability to communicate well and work with project managers and designers to define scope and constructability issues and track costs from concept through final design and support with field changes
+ Must be very familiar with MS Excel, and know or be able to learn commercial off the shelf cost estimating and scheduling software
+ Must be able to develop quantity take\-offs, cost estimates, and construction schedules based on provided plans; and, interface with project managers and various design disciplines to determine scope and review our work product
+ Must be able to apply knowledge and experience of construction methods and procedures to our work process
+ Certified Cost Professional \(AACEI\) or Certified Professional Estimator \(ASPE\) preferred but not required
**Preferred Qualifications** Preference given to Sage Estimating and Primavera P6 skills
Preference is given to candidates who have produced at risk bid estimates and schedules across a variety of project types
