Minimum Requirements: Qualifications
• Tertiary level qualifications in engineering (environmental/chemical/civil/mechanical) or environmental science, from a recognised institution (Essential); and
• Driver's license (Essential).
Skills
• Excellent report writing and verbal communication skills;
• Strong analytical / numerical skills;
• Well developed planning and organisational skills; and
• Computer programming with either Fortran, MatLab or C/C++ (desirable).
Knowledge
• An understanding of relevant NSW Environmental Legislation in particular related to waste management and air quality (desirable);
• An understanding of atmospheric behaviour and the effect of meteorology on atmospheric dispersion of pollutants (desirable); and
• Familiarity with a range of industrial processes and activities and associated environmental impacts.
Experience
• Technical report writing with an environmental focus;
• Development and implementation of waste management and resource recovery strategies for local government (desirable);

Job Description: Responsibilities / Objectives
• Undertaking of small to medium environmental engineering and management projects, in particular those relating to air quality and/or waste management;
• Writing technical reports for peer review by senior technical staff;
• Assist with preparation of tenders and proposals for air quality and waste projects;
• Participation in workgroup initiatives including technical activities; and
• Performing of other related duties from time to time, provided that they are consistent with your skills, competencies and expertise.
